You may nominate a citizen to handle the organization of the Civ4 democracy pre-game here. Self-Nominations are allowed.

Currently, were going to assume that one of the council organizations will win. So there will be 5 people who will sit upon a council. To keep back the flood of confusion (and to add to the choas), I'm just going to throw all the candidates into one big voting bin.

The election poll will be multiple choice, with all possible candidates listed. The 5 candidates with the most votes at the end of the election will fill the council poistions.

These five people will be charged with handling all pre-game organization (including the constitution) to the citizens specifications.

Nominations will close November 1st, and the Election will go up the same day.

Yeah, yeah, I accept...

Your lucky, I was thinking about over-stepping my bounds abit and saying that there could be only one nomination per citizen. I finally decided against it, figuring that everyone would just nominate themselves. Kind of pointless in the end.

Yeah, I'll go on and accept.

I'll strongly second Harrier and nominate AlphaWolf. All of the "vets" can vouch for themselves. :D

As for me, count me as undecided for the moment...not sure of my availability for the month.

I second Daveshack, donovan zoi, Chieftess and Strider and self nominate.

I accept.

Organizationally we should think of this council as our guides through the process. Just want to make it clear that I don't think there should be any implied decision making power. The decisions are firmly in the hands of the people, by majority vote. The council can and should filter ideas down to a recommended ruleset.

Second DaveShack, Cheiftess, Nobody, Strider, and Ginger_Ale. I then throw myself into the ring, A diference in age amoung the council will help make it comfortable for all players.

I will help as much as I can but I think Donovan Zoi should be withdrawn from further participation in all activities (including those in real life) until he plays a turn in the cage match. :mischief:

Edit: Hear ye, hear ye, all citizens. Let it be known by these presents that the Honorable, Grascious and Benevolent Donovan Zoi, President of the Republic of Japan has returned to his proper place in the Cage.

I nominate myself solely in an attempt to get involved. I cannot, however, say that I have any experience pertaining to demogames.

No problem XionNova - this is a great time to get involved, as no one really knows much about how Civ4 will work regarding to a DG at this time. Welcome to the game, feel free to ask some questions if you need to.

Well I was a bit surprised to see my name as I've not posted much here at all, but I'm going to have to decline for now. I'll help out if I can, but to actually do the organising would take more time than I have at the moment. Plus CIV is still not available here in the UK and when it is if I can possibly run it (far from certain that I can) I might actually want to spend a little of my time playing it for some reason or other. December should be better as I have some time off from work then.

Thanks for the nomination.

Thanks, but I'll decline. I've got DG VII to keep pushing forward!

(subtle hint - if you're new to the DG's, come on over to the Civ3 DG, and see how it's done!)

I'll certainly offer thoughts every now and then, but don't have the time to focus on both DG's.

BTW what are we going to do if there are more than 20 candidates?

Ginger_Ale
Nov 01, 2005, 06:26 AM
Two polls ... I think that was done before in DG6 or something (but not for elections, some other poll).

edit: Found it: here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=113505) and here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=113506) (it was actually my poll on province naming)

Whether we reach 20 or not, why don't we have two separate polls --- one for veterans of DG3 and one for self-proclaimed newcomers?

This will allow us to require new participants in the process right from the start. What does everyone think of polling for a panel of three vets and two newcomers? Also, should the polls be multi-choice?

I nominate myself.

I'm a new blood but I'll be active and will be here to witness each step of the democracy game process . :D

An excellent idea - seconded. Two polls, 3 vets, 2 newbies, single-choice.

Makes sense, espicially as we seem to be going for a single council now.

Nominations are officially closed, I will post elections soon. Two Polls, single Choice.
