Eternal Vigilance has a few who are dedicated to Civ IV, however, a few of those players are in UK, so they wont have their game until Friday (they are experienced in previous Civs though).

What's a ladder in this context?

A ladder would be an organised group of teams all competing in the same 'ladder'.

The team at the top could be challanged by those below who wish to take the top position etc etc

I do not know of any existing Ladders for CIV4 or any CIV though.

Eternal Vigilance are certainly ready for the arrival of the blessed CIV4.

I will be pushing for us to form a CIV4 division as soon as I get my hands on the game and know of some other players willing to help.

I can't encourage you all enough to get involved with the EV community if you wish to form a good group of friends who enjoy gaming and are sociable.
