I would have liked to have an end game movie when you are defeated.
Even something like this from civ 1:

In Civ4 all you get is a pop up box with the words "You are defeated" as if you were playing a game of tic-tac-toe.
It just seems kind of anticlimactic, I suppose, and a nice end game movie would ease the pain of losing a civ you have been building for many hours.

Agree.
But I can't just stop there, because my post has to be at least ten letters long

Yeah, I agree. They need a cool movie were it shows you enemies marching through your cities or something.

There is the ability to customize game events (including the "game end" event) in civ4. But as far as I can tell already you can only change the words but it may be possible to do other stuff too. This could be good for all kinds of events in the game. Of course we don't have any movies or pictures to put to these events. But I always like tons of media content in games (civ1 was good for that in its time and within the limits of 2 or 3 floppies) and it would be neat to be able to add this kind of stuff. Right now it kind of feels like you are playing a multiplayer RTS deathmatch rather than an epic single player "story" of a civilization. I know there are numerous movies already but mostly just for wonders.
Another thing I miss is the materializing buildings in the city view. It would be neat in Civ4 if, when you built a building, it would zoom in close to the city and show it rising out of the ground or something. That would be pretty darn simple to program actually.

My idea:
In Modern Era, why not have Modern Armor overrunning a city, maybe a slide of ICBM's firing....>D
