Hi,

Some 10 to 20 minutes after I install, I get kicked off the network of my university (which is the only option to have internet at college) ... it no longer grants me a subnetmasker.
The only way to restore my internet is to go to Systeemherstel (EN : System restore ?) and go back to a point before installation of Civ IV.

I don't know why this happens, but it doesn't just happen when I open Civ IV, it happens as long as I have the game installed.

Does any one know what kind of things Civ IV is sending to the server or what the installation alters that might cause this incredibly annoying error ?

civ4 connects to the take2 website when you click on "check for updates", and of course it will connect in multiplayer mode...
otherwise, as witnessed by my desktop firewall (and you could do THAT too to see what your computer does) it doesn't connect at all.
