This process only runs when i run Civ IV - according to google it's present in some other games too (eg BF2) - could anyone confirm what it actually is? I'd
assume something to do with protection, but not sure.

I "think" (dont qoute me) its something to do with the Safedisk copy protection

As I recall this is a program called Cleanup.

EDIT:
Macrovision Europe Ltd. Cleanup - Macrovision make Safedisk so yes, its highly possible that it is part of the Safe Disk copy protection.

Just noticed on the MS website there is a safedisk.exe patch because some MS games don't work properly with safedisk - wonder if this could help with some of the "no cd/dvd" errors?
