View Full Version : MilitaryAdvisor..with your Citys
terrasol Nov 10, 2005, 11:44 PM Hi All,
First of All..sorry for my english ;)
I have changed the MilitaryAdvisor for me and i thaught perhaps someone could use it. Now you can show Units of your own Cities(also one or more cities)
Have fun with it.
Installation:
Unzip it into your "My Documents/My Games/Civ 4/" folder or whereever you are saving your games via /ALT
Changes are in:
1.python/screens/CvMilitaryAdvisor.py
2.xml/text/CIV4GameText_Misc1.xml
you need file 2 also for english versions!!!!
I have used it only in german but in file 2 (at the end) you can change for your language(english should be work without changes)
snepp Nov 11, 2005, 01:05 AM Very nice, maybe the advisor will be useful now.
JDexter Nov 11, 2005, 03:55 AM Super, jetzt könnte es sich sogar mal lohnen darauf zu warten, dass der Advisor lädt. ;)
Wie wäre es mit noch mehr Funktionen? :P
terrasol Nov 11, 2005, 04:00 AM wäre halt die frage...was für welche? :)
lakon Nov 11, 2005, 04:37 AM Wie wär's z.B. mit ner Einheiten-Upgrade Funktion?
For our English speaking friends:
We are discussing about mor functions, you could biuld in this advisor.
terrasol Nov 11, 2005, 04:43 AM i will see, what i can do for upgrade...but first i want to see if there enough interessed peoples for this :)
ibcoltscrew Nov 11, 2005, 06:33 AM I am very interested about your mods and more function. I use the french version of civilization, i would like to know if your mods will work with my french Civ4.
Thx
terrasol Nov 11, 2005, 11:09 PM yes it should work but you must change the file 'xml/text/CIV4GameText_Misc1.xml' yourself, cause i don't speak french
at the end of this file you will find following:
<!-- Zusaetze for Domestic and Military Advisor -->
<TEXT>
<Tag>TXT_KEY_ROUNDS</Tag>
<English>Rounds</English>
<French>Rounds</French>
<German>Runden</German>
<Italian>Rounds</Italian>
<Spanish>Rounds</Spanish>
</TEXT>
<TEXT>
<Tag>TXT_ALL_TOWNS</Tag>
<English>All Towns</English>
<French>All Towns</French>
<German>Alle Städte</German>
<Italian>All Towns</Italian>
<Spanish>All Towns</Spanish>
</TEXT>
<TEXT>
<Tag>TXT_ALL_OWN_UNITS</Tag>
<English>All own units</English>
<French>All own units</French>
<German>Alle eigenen Einheiten</German>
<Italian>All own units</Italian>
<Spanish>All own units</Spanish>
</TEXT>
you have to change the text inside the
<French>...</French>
now this should work correct with your language
Stilgar08 Nov 21, 2005, 07:28 AM I think it's a great idea, this mod... First of all, it doesn't work for me :( (The game crashes when I try to hit the military advisor). I don't know why...
Should I install in the normal "Assets folder???" or can I run the Custom Assets folder? How do I see if it works properly (the custom assets folder I mean, not your mod... ;) )
Could you please detail the install procedure for dummies like me??
I'm right thinking the no. behind the city-name shows the no. of units in that city? Could you do two figures? First one for military units which can actually DEFEND the city, second one for workers/settlers/navy and air units...
kalder Nov 21, 2005, 08:17 AM Good Job Terrasol, very interested in!!
Anyway, it think the military ad is quite useles...
terrasol Nov 22, 2005, 08:46 AM you can run it in 'CustomAssets'...i have do so
in this zip is a folder named 'customassets' you must copy the content of this folder to your 'customassets' not the hole folder, then it should work
if you have more trouble with this mod, please pm me and we will try to solve the problem together
the number shows only units with the possibility to defend your city
