View Full Version : PBEM Open Invitation
Herandar IV Nov 12, 2005, 08:00 AM ***Game Full***
Since most of these PBEM threads seem to be full whenever I do check the forum, I am creating an open invitation. I am willing to play multiple PBEM games. My gmail address is Herandar.
Oh, I might as well start a new game. Entirely random set up, normal speed, say five people and three AI?? Post comments, email invitations.
Thanks.
Wow, an almost totally Random game. Setting up soon...
NationalKato Nov 12, 2005, 08:25 AM Count me in if there's still room:

KingSponge Nov 12, 2005, 11:35 AM Filled already? Darn.
Herandar IV Nov 12, 2005, 01:01 PM Yes, but I will gladly join a game you or someone else sets up.
nowhere1 Nov 14, 2005, 05:58 AM I'd just finished my turn. I sent seamusjoe savefile.
I'm sorry to be late.
seamusjoe Nov 14, 2005, 01:16 PM Just sent mine to Mabellino. Sorry to be late too, didn't manage to find Mabellino email. Everything is ok now, so good luck everyone :)
mabellino Nov 15, 2005, 11:41 AM about to play now. Who do I send it to next?
elderotter Nov 15, 2005, 12:00 PM hey, both games I play in have a published list of players in turn order - has helped us track down a non-responsive player.
mabellino Nov 15, 2005, 01:00 PM Elderotter's idea works for me. In the mean time I'll just attach the save here.
Did anyone else have a really long load time? My game stopped responding at one point but thankfully didn't crash:crazyeye:
Thracius Nov 15, 2005, 02:45 PM Hi all,
I sent Herander IV a PM to post the list of all players in this PBEM. Hopefully that should make things move more smoothly.
My load time was quick. Although, not as quick as the length of my turn!
Herandar IV Nov 15, 2005, 05:19 PM In the mean time I'll just attach the save here.
Sorry about that. Good idea.
Herandar IV Nov 15, 2005, 08:36 PM about to play now. Who do I send it to next?
The save you uploaded did not have the turn ended. When you hit enter to end the turn, the game is automatically saved and the name of the file is [your name] to [next person's name] followed by the date.

mabellino Nov 17, 2005, 03:37 PM Yeah figured that one out afterwards.
I just played my secong turn and seamusjoe has 2 entries in the ingame player list with 2 different colours? Is that a bug or does he get 2 turns! lol!

It appears that with highly advanced cloning technology, the nation of Mali placed an operative to replace the Persian ruler. Fortunately, the operative did not use a password.
I did get to play as normal, though more anonymous than usual.
Herandar IV Nov 17, 2005, 08:08 PM What I am trying to figure out is what happened to 3940 BC? My last turn was 3960, and the file I received was for 3920...
Edit: Math is fundamental. Dir...
mabellino Nov 18, 2005, 05:26 AM I got 3960, moved 1 unit (secrecy dictates that's all I can reveal) then hit enter. I think the turns go in 40year increments in the early game (at least they did in Civ3)
Herandar IV Nov 22, 2005, 07:53 PM It took less than 44 hours to get from turn three to turn four, and it has now been almost 70 hours since I sent the game to NationalKato. Has anyone had any problems? (besides the fact that I keep being doppelganged)
I was hoping to get to play more than usual this US holiday weekend.
mabellino Nov 23, 2005, 11:39 AM I've had major internet problems but they're resolved now.
Will be forwarding game within the hour (fingers crossed!)
