I am new to this forum and new to CIV IV. Is there anyway in the game to hurry a production either on units, buildings or Wonders? I mean whether we have an option to buy up units, buildings or Wonders.

You can hurry production in two ways, either by sacrificing population in the city or buy spending gold. To sacrifice population you have to have the Slavery civic and to be spend gold hurrying you have to have the Universal Sufferage civic.
