I can only think of two reasons for not using the patch:
[list=1] You like to use bugs as cheats.
You have an illegal version and the crack doesn't work with the patch.[/list=1]
(This is not specifically directed to you, some other guy.)

There maybe another reason. Perhaps the computer he uses for the game may not be connected to the internet. This is the situation that I have.

so get some floppy disks, winzip, and span the patch over a few floppies. or better yet, use some form of removable disk that has a larger capacity, and you don't even need to split the file. Problem solved.
