This is a new scenario from the creator of Bombarding Time and The Promised Land. It is set in Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood and the Merry Men. In the scenario, the Sherriff of Nottingham has decided to wipe out Robin Hood, and King Richard also has invaded the area. There are three civs to play as (Nottingham, Royalists, Merry Men). Enjoy!:king:

Jan. 14, 2002: Here's the update I promised. Thanks to those who suggested the changes.

-I have added barbarian camps and goody huts. Most huts have irrigation and roads around them to indicate that the tribes have "settled in".

-There are now patches of plain Forest.

-I renamed all Barbarian tribes to just plain Bandits.

-I further decreased the chance of successful propaganda.

-Minor terrain changes.

Version 1.1.4 removed after 74 downloads.

Here's a screenshot of the map. As you can see, it's set in a forest with paths and clearings.

Some of the forest could be forest not just pine forests.

I don't know, I just thought the Pine Forest looked good.:p

I just looked at the map.

Shouldn't there be a few villages, or towns, around? Maybe some roads, or such? After all, thiis is NOT set in 4000 BC.

I couldn't figure out how to make roads be there at the beginning, so I used plains instead. They looked like paths anyway. About the villages, perhaps I should have had some goody huts around. I'll work these changes into an updated version soon.:)

You'll also have to make some compromises on resource location that won't necessarily be historical but will be necessary for game play.

Roads. I guess you can't overlay them in the Editor to start a scenario. Maybe if you started in, say, 900 AD and created (and eventually disbanded) workers to make improvements it would be ready by the 12th century.

Whatever works.

About the resource thing: I only had to place a few types of resources, since the scenario is designed to go only through medieval times. For example, I didn't place Uranium or Aluminum on the map.

Hmm oddd that you cant' add roads to your map. I've made maps starting with roads, railroads(though they offer no terrain improvement benift until you have steam power), irrigation, forts, etc and played them. The only quirk is that the roads dont appear when playing until you step right on the square oftentimes.

Yeah, I just figured out how to place Roads at the beginning (in the Overlays menu). I'll put them in the update, which I'll probably do in a couple days.
