I've been trying to absorb all of the new changes with Civ IV. One in particular that I like is the unit promotions. This is quite an interesting concept. The ability to customize my armies is great. I have to admit that I've been trying to sort out all of the different options available. I've found it a little hard to remember all of the combinations and prerequisites for each promotion, so I created a "Unit Promotion Flow Chart." See below for the attachment. I used the manual which came with my copy of the game, took the data from the appendix and organized it into a flow chart. This way you know that if you want to be able to Blitz, you have to start with Combat I. I hope you will find this useful. Please let me know if you become aware of errors or have a suggestion to make it more useful.

I'll start work on an updated version with larger text. It is tough trying to get all the information to fit on 1 sheet. :D

Colorful and neat!

The small fonts are telling the unit types. You may use symbols to represent the unit types, like in Civilopedia, and then use the symbols in the flow chart. Still, don't make the symbols too small.

Difficult to read on-line, but once Printed, could read it perfectly.

Except the dark blue at the top.

Just uploaded the 2nd version. I hope this addresses the issue people had reading the small text. I totally overhauled the flow chart using a different type of software. Hopefully this addresses that issue. Thanks for the input.

It is my understanding that with the upcoming patch there will be some changes to unit promotion. Once those changes are implemented, I will publish version 3 of the flow chart. Untill then, Happy Civing :)
