Gratz. :) Scytale Nov 16, 2005, 08:13 AM May this be the first of many. Well done Supa! kittenOFchaos Nov 16, 2005, 10:24 AM Warning, it's a RAR (http://www.rarlab.com/) file Should be a "grrr" file...didn't you learn anything from the Frosties ads? ShiroKobbure Nov 16, 2005, 10:40 AM did you make the whole model or is this just a skin for a civ 4 animal? Vadus Nov 16, 2005, 10:54 AM WoW ! Let's make a Zoo Mod  demeryt Nov 16, 2005, 11:00 AM I greatly appreciate the work, just one thought though. I have yet to try modding myself, but having heard how much "moddable" Civ 4 is I was surprised by pretty complicated process of installation of this tiger skin. Is it how modding look like in Civ 4? Supa Nov 16, 2005, 03:46 PM This installation is not that complex. You need to edit 4 files and it's just copy/paste. I've mostly done the job for you. Civ-IV lacks an editor, so you have to do the job yourself. ShiroKobbure > It's a new skin for the Panther model. Afaik, nobody cracked the CIV-4 .nif files yet. Thanks for the comments! The Mole, could you at least add something nice about this unit before pushing your request through my throat ? Red Door Nov 16, 2005, 03:53 PM Woo-Hoo! First Unit! Nice Job! Stormrage Nov 16, 2005, 04:29 PM Great, the unit making started... Now I have to spend loads of cash to upgrade my computer, and buy the friggin game, and I`ve just learned how to balance Civ3 and the rest of my life... Thanks a bunch! ;) BTW, the unit is awesome. :D t3h_m013 Nov 16, 2005, 05:14 PM sorry it came out wrong... it was meant to be a quasi serious thing... as apposed to being pushy. I kinda thought youd just ignore it. The unit looks great, but i dont even have civ IV yet, so its a bit moot on my part. Bluemofia Nov 16, 2005, 09:32 PM Nice... Although I do admit that it looks like it has glowy eyes in the BMP picture. CrazyAce Nov 17, 2005, 11:14 AM One problem I encounter is where to put the Unit and Interface/button folders after the D/L, the instructions included says nothing about that  ? Supa Nov 17, 2005, 12:05 PM One problem I encounter is where to put the Unit and Interface/button folders after the D/L, the instructions included says nothing about that  ? You've had to decompress the whole RAR file (Grrr ;)) in the (chosen) Assets directory. If it's done correctly, the files should go in the right folders. If there is a problem, the files must be placed like this : Assets |-Art | |-Interface | | |-Button | | | |-Supa_Resource_Atlas.dds | |-Units | | |-Tiger | | | |-Everything else I don't know if it's very clear typed like this. Supa Nov 17, 2005, 01:04 PM Thanks to CrazyAce's comment, I noticed a big error in the archive. I forgot to put one folder! You can download the fixed version or move all the files placed in Art\units\ to Art\units\Tiger. Like you can see, it's a very stupid error :) -- Damned. I was modifying the first post when the server blew up and now, it's gone. CrazyAce Nov 17, 2005, 07:37 PM I placed the files into the Documents directory because I didn’t want to mess with the Firaxis directory yet. Ok umm this is where I placed the Tiger unit: …\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\CustomAssets\art\Units\tiger The button is placed into: …\ My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\CustomAssets\art \Interface\Button The text files I placed into: …\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\CustomAssets\xml I just hope this works. Oh also tiger_button.dds is included into the Units\Tiger folder, should this be in there..? Poseidon_55 Nov 17, 2005, 10:04 PM Where did the first post go its gone. A missing post mysterious this is one must futher investigate Ghost Nov 17, 2005, 10:30 PM hey i wanted a tiger and the post is gone :( Supa Nov 17, 2005, 11:13 PM I placed the files into the Documents directory because I didn’t want to mess with the Firaxis directory yet. TF can' restore it so I'll open a new thread for this unit. Here it is: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=141711 Weasel Op Nov 18, 2005, 11:14 PM Why are there 2 threads? :hmm: Supa Nov 19, 2005, 03:44 AM Why are there 2 threads? :hmm: Because I was editing the first message of this thread when the forum was updated a few days ago and somehow, this message got lost. Thunderfall couldn't make it reappear so I created a second thread. 4_HoTA Nov 22, 2005, 02:50 AM I cant find the download link supa. Supa Nov 22, 2005, 07:39 AM As I've already said twice in this thread, the first post disapparead with a forum maintenance and I created a second thread with the link. |
