Currently working on:
updating my own civ
creating Italy or Belgium (don't know yet)
adding civilizations
WARNING: some mods give more than 1 UU to a civ. In SuperCiv, only 1UU is permit
Below are the mod changes for UU:
Magyar: Huszar Cavalry (no flavor unit)
note: Brian Boru and Brian Boruma are the "same leader". Boru is used with celts, Boruma is used with Ireland
Post in this thread the (existing) civ you want to be included first
Thanks to all of these modders for their works
Special Thanks to Jecrell for his graphic works on my mods
Below are some pictures
Superciv V1.05 (http://rapidshare.de/files/11070752/SupercivV1.05.rar.html) click free, wait 20s, download, happy civing!!!

For those who want their civ added faster, you can help me by:
-put all the changes in one file (like anima croatorum have done with austria)
-put all the text in one file only (look at Carthage by Jecrell mod or Superciv mod xml files). If possible, put the text in all langugaes even if it's in english. just put the text between french, german, spanish and italian tag...
-put the changes in front or in the bottom of the files. Alphabetical order (almost) doesn't matter in xml files. Since i don't care myself (yet) with alphabetical order, it's not a problem...
-don't put any references to Atlas for the buttons. the only references you need is the one to your vanilla .dds file
-don't change the vanilla civ colors and if possible, try to create your own. Colors give me headaches...
-tell me when there is an updated version of your mod (and which files are concerned), so i can update it in Superciv
-don't use any generic name when you do different mods:the reference "TEXT_CITY_NAME_CITY1" in 3 different mods means that i need to change it twice by mod (when you call for it and when you describe it)
Antimatter3009 Nov 18, 2005, 04:23 PM Could you please post version numbers for the included mods? Would be nice to know if there's a more updated version.
Red Door Nov 18, 2005, 04:30 PM Is this in French? Whoa. I think somebody will have to make an english version for more people to play this.
LAnkou Nov 18, 2005, 04:32 PM it's in english, but since i play with the french version, french civilopedia is displayed in french
Wyz_sub10 Nov 18, 2005, 04:42 PM Thank you very much for your work! It'll be great to have everyone's efforts in one place.
Kudos!
woodelf Nov 18, 2005, 04:54 PM Terrific work L'Ankou. Now I just need to alter the game turns, tech, and such and I'm good. Thanks.
Jecrell Nov 18, 2005, 05:42 PM LAnkou, I just want to say that you did an extremely good job on this project, and the only problem I can find is very slight. The alpha channels for various buttons/civs are missing -- so they don't look like buttons. If you don't know exactly what I mean, look at the diplomacy screen and compare Hannibal to Mustafa.
Other than that, amazing work. :)
Red Door Nov 18, 2005, 05:59 PM oh ok. thanks.
ejdacanay Nov 18, 2005, 06:22 PM which one is scotland in?
Scytale Nov 18, 2005, 06:23 PM Man you are the best!! You don't know how much I wanted this. Now I'll easily update my map. Thank you!
Uluk Nov 18, 2005, 06:43 PM The alpha channels for various buttons/civs are missing -- so they don't look like buttons.
Yeah, I noticed that the buttons have alpha channels too when I updated my mod recently. I never even noticed that before until I opened one of the default buttons in DXTBmp. I used DDS Converter 2 until very recently and that obviously sucks quite a bit compared to DXTBmp. Anyway, I didn't have much time to work with the last update so currently only one button has the alpha channel present and the rest don't. For example, Mannerheim there hasn't got one. Expect those to be fixed in the next release.
Gj combining the mods LAnkou. Expect to do many updates into this one, tough, because there's lots of polishing to do in many mods atm. And there's more coming each and every day. It seems that we are going to have all of the 50 states soon. :D
Cheers,
Uluk
Antimatter3009 Nov 18, 2005, 07:08 PM Awesomeness. Thank you.
LAnkou Nov 18, 2005, 07:59 PM Well, for the alpha channel, let's modder do it on their own mod (although they don't update it anymore) (by the way, PM what to do with alpha channel for my own mods, ie Celts and Bretagne)
I was adding bulgaria and there comes my first doubt:
The Bulgaria mod let Bulgaria having 3 UU (Boyar and two others). I'm ok with more than two leaders since you will play only one. But with UU it's different, it's having more than one is opposite on the "rules", i mean, all others civ play with one UU, what happend to a player meeting Bulgaria?
I'm ok for people modding many UU for their own Civ, but in SuperCiv, since it would bother me, I will leave only one...
One day, i may post a "all UU" file but for now, i try to add civ...
For Bulgaria, the remaining UU is the Boyar since it is the only one i knew the name.
andz Nov 19, 2005, 04:05 AM you should include CivArmy s. 1994's Civilizations..
Portugal: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=141409
Tupi: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=140216
Brazil: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=138755
LAnkou Nov 19, 2005, 06:07 AM well, i know i will (that's the goal of Superciv, read the first post and the new civ thread)
but, don't tell me i "should" do this...
If you want it to be included first, just tell it so...
It's maybe because i'm french and "should" have a different meaning for me (not the proper one), but i find your post quite rude...
yacco Nov 19, 2005, 07:38 AM Great job!! What can we say more ;)
LAnkou Nov 19, 2005, 08:40 AM Ok, just add Israel, Quebec, Bulgaria and Texas
Plus some graphic minor changes (buttons and Bretagne Flag)
By the way, for the leaderheads, we got:
4 roosevelt
3 Napoleon
3 Alexander
2 Genghis, 2 Peter, 2 Washington, 2 Julius
33 Unique Leader
wich mean 51 Leader for 30 civ...Pretty good!!!
woodelf Nov 19, 2005, 10:12 AM L'Ankou - Have you looked into how hard it will be to incorporate the BlueMarble graphic pack with this? I just started downloading it so I haven't checked yet.
LAnkou Nov 19, 2005, 10:15 AM no, i haven't
i may consider it once i've finished compiling all civs....
Jecrell Nov 19, 2005, 10:18 AM Blue Marble isn't a 'mod' -- it's a graphics pack that applies directly to the game. It works fine with it.
woodelf Nov 19, 2005, 10:22 AM Fair enough. I'll look into and let you know what it entails.
Red Door Nov 19, 2005, 10:41 AM You should add CivArmy's Zulu too.
Dusty4prez Nov 19, 2005, 11:36 AM hmmm for some reason it won't work for me I extract "superciv" to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Mods right?
Jecrell Nov 19, 2005, 11:54 AM hmmm for some reason it won't work for me I extract "superciv" to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Mods right?
Did you download 1.00 first? 1.01 is an update file.
Dusty4prez Nov 19, 2005, 12:44 PM got it to work but all the flags are just white >.<
LAnkou Nov 19, 2005, 02:38 PM well, i can't help you...technical support is no my cup of tea
i will add all civarmy s.1994 civs in next version
woodelf Nov 19, 2005, 06:10 PM My bad on you needing to do anything with the BlueMarble modpack L'Ankou. I installed it on my computer and it's basically the default terrain for Civ4 now on my computer. You modpack works perfectly with it. Great job combining all of the civs into 1 download. I swapped some Gameinfo files from my own mod and it works like a dream. Again, thanks for the effort.
LAnkou Nov 19, 2005, 06:17 PM i asked what where the files modified by Blue marble project, will see what i can...
add Brazil, Tupi, Portugal and Zulu...(V1.02)thanks civarmy
minor changes: some graphic improvements, and minor things
new screenshot too...
Next update will be a color patch so there won't be any border problem. It may take longer than usual....
I also noticed that the round indicator specifying where the current selected unit is, is pink for some unit...if someone knows where it comes from....

well, i check what files are changed, and since it is only dds terrain files, a simple thing you could do is :
a) backup your work (i told you)
b) backup your work (i prefer to not be responsible for anything)
c) copy the art folder in Customassets
d) past it in Superciv\Assets folder (same level as Art folder of superciv)
e) play
WARNING
all i said are presomptions on the fact that i've seen a list of files affected, it is better to check there is no .dds files modifying units/leaderheads/teamcolor/civilizations....
hope it helps
Hobelhouse Nov 20, 2005, 12:06 PM You need CivArmy's vokings and the lovecraftian civ to.
geebo Nov 20, 2005, 12:38 PM much props....but is their any way to play with them with different scenarios or even just the world map??or more then 18 civs??thanks
PyroAce2 Nov 20, 2005, 10:00 PM Love the mod idea - but I'm having a problem.
Whenever I try to run a game with he mod enabled, I usually can get through a few turns (it varies, I've had it go at 5 turns, I've made it to 40 or so, but it always happens eventually) and then my entire machine reboots.
It should also be noted that I've been trying this with a map that's been edited (tho nothing crazy, used world builder, also renamed a few of the civs by editing the worldsave file, but thats it).
Any clues as to whats causing this?

Try it on a normal map.
LAnkou Nov 21, 2005, 03:28 AM OK, here i go, i show you the main color changes i've done so far: the green and the blue...(see below)
By the way, Portugal is now green, and i reach to kept england, Bretagne and Finland white without thier border mixing up(but it may be difficult to guess which one the city own without the flag, will see that later but i don't think i can do much more) the order of these 3 white civ is (less bright to brighter): Bretagne, England, Finland.
i now need to fix the red-purple-pink (turkey and canada) and the yellow-maroon (brazil-zulu) problem
By the way, i hesitate to get this skinned animated leaderhead for Vercingetorix of the celt (don't worry, I will change the background), i'm not so satisfied by the result....what do you think about it? tell me if you prefer a static image for Brian Boru and Bertrand Du Guesclin too(i think Anne of Bretagne is quite a success)...
woodelf Nov 21, 2005, 04:33 AM So far, so good L'Ankou. It's amazing how much longer the replayability is now that there are so many choices for opponents. Good work compiling it all.
LAnkou Nov 21, 2005, 05:13 AM in next version, there will be some easter eggs...
will add Babys, vikings and cherokee too
next version will be before thursday or after next monday (i'm going to the French Riviera, he he he!!)
didaskalia7 Nov 21, 2005, 09:06 AM :goodjob: This looks great, I just downloaded it and will give it a try tonight!
How do you plan on updated the individual Civs in this mod when the
creators update their mod?
Fantastic job !!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodjob: :goodjob: :D
Anima Croatorum Nov 21, 2005, 09:21 AM If there's a slot available I hope my Croatia civ might get squeezed in:
Link (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=142385)
LAnkou Nov 21, 2005, 08:48 PM there are plenty of slots available
By the way, just checked, and there is no Phi/Ind leader. Good from a balanced gameplay point of view
On the opposite, there are many many organized and/or philosophical leaders and not so many aggressive/financial/spiritual
Wyz_sub10 Nov 21, 2005, 09:06 PM On the opposite, there are many many organized and/or philosophical leaders and not so many aggressive/financial/spiritual
My First Peoples mod will fill some of the latter. One of the leaders is Spiritual/Financial, another is Aggressive/Spiritual.
LAnkou Nov 22, 2005, 09:30 AM V1.03
Alaska by Urbannaja
Babylon by Civarmy s.1994
Cherokee by Civarmy s.1994
Croatia by Anima Croatorum
Vikings by Civarmy s.1994
+animated leaderheads for Vercingetorix
+better buttons for Celts and Bretagne (thanks Jecrell)
+Easter Eggs
+Border colors
V1.04 will be:
addition of the 4 remaining civ (at the moment, maybe more if civarmy factory is working)
updating the existing one
+Easter eggs update
since i'm limited to 10Mb per file, maybe V1.04 will be in a different file too...
Gonna try to see how ti fix that
Mr_V Nov 23, 2005, 11:07 AM LAnkou, any chance of putting in Serbian and Croatian mod together in one pack? If some more European mods emerge, them as well...
Mod is on:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=141403
Cheers
Wyz_sub10 Nov 23, 2005, 10:29 PM It looks like 1.09 will require updates to all the mods (due mostly to leaderheads.xml). L'Ankou can probably do this in SuperCiv to accommodate the change, but civ-mod makers should be away that these updates are required.
Canada MOD will be updated Thursday night or Friday night.
LAnkou Nov 24, 2005, 01:39 AM will start on updating (and yes maybe add some civ, croatia is on top of the list) on monday or Friday
from now to then, i'm on the French Riviera!!!!
Wyz_sub10 Nov 24, 2005, 10:27 AM from now to then, i'm on the French Riviera!!!!
Bastard! ;)
Have fun and take lots of pics.

What exactly is the problem? I've tested all of my mods post patch and have had no problems.. I'm missing something, by all accounts, but I cannot figure out what
Wyz_sub10 Nov 24, 2005, 11:59 AM A few XML files have been affected by the patch. I use the following ones:

BORNAparte Nov 24, 2005, 03:20 PM I'm working on Czech nation for CivIV and it is practically completed. I can't do flagdecal in DDS Convertor only. Can somebody help me? This is that flag:

Tactician Zhao Nov 25, 2005, 10:15 AM What data in the Leaderheads got changed with the patch Wyz_sub?
the only difference is the variable data for <iLimitedWarPowerRatio> fields were all raised by 10
woodelf Nov 25, 2005, 11:41 AM the only difference is the variable data for <iLimitedWarPowerRatio> fields were all raised by 10
Thanks Zhao. Any idea what that means to gameplay? I assume your game won't crash simply because of this....
Tactician Zhao Nov 25, 2005, 12:12 PM Thanks Zhao. Any idea what that means to gameplay? I assume your game won't crash simply because of this....
no, it actually still works fine without changing the values, as I tested before I changed as well as after.. I don't know what this value does exactly, either.. something to do with the leader AI apparently.. perhaps doing some testing with extreme values for that variable could shed some light on what exactly it does
Kettu Nov 25, 2005, 01:03 PM I tried this mod playing with Finland, and for some reason my flag was all white. Any ideas why? I tried modifying flagdecal_finland_nationalflag.dds file to get it work, but it didn't seem to help. I upgraded to 1.09 before trying this mod, could that be the reason?
BORNAparte Nov 26, 2005, 09:35 AM I finished Czech nation. Can you put it to SuperCiv mod, LAnkou?

I was hoping you'd suggest that... :D
Wyz_sub10 Nov 26, 2005, 08:17 PM If you want to include my leaders-mod, feel free. :)
I was going to PM you about this - I'd love to see it, especially since I used 4 leaders for Canada and may have an extra 1 or 2 for the First People mod collection.
PeteT Nov 26, 2005, 10:07 PM .. I don't know what this value does exactly, either.. something to do with the leader AI apparently..
Increasing this value has the effect of increasing the chances that an AI team will start a limited war.
Thormodr Nov 27, 2005, 08:23 AM Thanks to all the modders for the hard work they have done to create the extra civs. I have had a lot of fun playing a couple so far. Polynesians are a lot of fun on a archipelago tiny islands map. ^^
As a bonus my problem with the game crashing when I create a new game has gone away. I am not really sure why but when I use a mod from here it works great. :goodjob:
LAnkou Nov 28, 2005, 01:50 AM ok boys and girls, i have a lot of work....
well, my priority will be:
1) understand what are the changes that the patch implies
2) try to find a good place to put the mod in one entire file (will PM Thunderfall)
3) update civs already in
4) add other civs (the olders, the faster, sorry for the later ones)
5) update my mods (sounds and Leaders to Bretagne and Celts)

about leaderheads mod, i'm sorry but:
As there is an Israel civ, and for personnal reason, i don't want Hitler to be included in my mod, but i may PM Llotyhy a step-by-step file for people who want leaders-mod to be include. However, as it is now (I.E. there is Hitler in), i won't add it...period
didaskalia7 Nov 28, 2005, 08:34 AM Hey, I just wanted say this is a GREAT Mod!:goodjob: :goodjob:
I plugged in and am playing Canada against 8 Civs that were NOT in
the original! Great idea:king: Keep'm coming!! I just spent the last 4
days playing!:crazyeye: :crazyeye:
LAnkou Nov 28, 2005, 09:36 AM thanks a lot!!! i'm really plased that people enjoy it!!! really
some news: I posted in the first post some information for people who want their civ to be include faster (and that can help me)...

Regrettable, but certainly understandable from a personal standpoint. It seems there is work going on right now for a mod combining utility anyway, so this may eventually end up being a moot point anyway.
(That'll be nice anyway, as there are some other mods out there that look nice, but since yours is my favorite, it "wins" for now. :))
jafink Nov 28, 2005, 02:36 PM Why would you put Alaska as a civ, and not Ontario!!!
LAnkou Nov 28, 2005, 04:13 PM because nobody has done Ontario...
Dusty4prez Nov 28, 2005, 05:49 PM I want Buffalo :P And not the city(only Canadians would know what I mean)
Haarbal Nov 29, 2005, 12:10 PM when will there be an update?
there are a whole lot of new civs to add :)
LAnkou Nov 29, 2005, 12:16 PM As soon as thunderfall explain me how to get enough room on cfc to get 1 update file...
Besides that, all civ won't get their place now, i'm looking on the level of advancement (if the modder speak about some evolutions quickly, i may wait)
The hardest thing to me is updating civ... that's why i focuse on the existing one for the moment, but don't worry, their will be at least 4 new civ in the next version
Jecrell Nov 30, 2005, 02:05 AM Korea is finished and Carthage has been updated. Just, fyi.
srdjann Nov 30, 2005, 02:44 AM Just one question: How did you solve the problem of existing same city names? For an example I'm sure that Canada and Quebec mod have some same cities inside.
I'm asking this because a mod wich I created (Yugoslavia) has same city names with Serbia and Croatia mod and if you decide to put them all in Superciv mod there could be problem - conflict based on same city names.
LAnkou Nov 30, 2005, 03:20 AM there are no conflict:
if someone try to create a city with an existing name, it just take the following...
Lachlan Nov 30, 2005, 03:55 AM :D I don't want anymore beta-version
LAnkou Nov 30, 2005, 04:17 AM what do you mean by beta-version?
alors nicois? t'es de quel quartier? ma copine habite nice nord (Cessole) (french discussion about nice and the french riviera)
woodelf Nov 30, 2005, 04:28 AM I assume he was joking about always having to update... :)
Not much you can do since the game is a month old and new civs are pouring in, which is a good thing! And people are constantly making improvements on their babies.
LAnkou Nov 30, 2005, 09:02 AM ok, there will be v1.04 tonight (french hour) since i found a free hosting service that accept HUGE files...
for the moment, the update is:
V1.04

maybe one or two civ more before tonight
woodelf Nov 30, 2005, 09:24 AM The mother of all MODs. Great work.
Now you need to merge with a gameplay enhancement mod. :)
LAnkou Nov 30, 2005, 09:28 AM i let this to other people....
by the way, i will have a problem with ireland and celts:
they both use brian boru (even the poorly animated LH i've made), should i delete Brian boru from ireland or from the celts? (i would go for ireland, since i designed the celt with some music and all...)
Tactician Zhao Nov 30, 2005, 12:06 PM i let this to other people....

while Brian Boru is more accurate for Ireland than the Celts, this is your mod, and you've put the work into the Boru leaderhead, complete with music and such.. so I would say you have the right idea
kandalf Nov 30, 2005, 01:23 PM What about
Italy
Korea
Mayans
Poland
Polynesia
Tibet
Wales
Yugoslavia
Are they going to be in a later release? Also, do you have to include texas and pennsylvania? I find them a disruption of the "theme" of civ4.
Tactician Zhao Nov 30, 2005, 01:55 PM Also, do you have to include texas and pennsylvania? I find them a disruption of the "theme" of civ4.
well, at least Texas was a sovereign nation.. Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Alaska can make no such claim.. though I have no problem with any of them, I personally would never play the Texas mod.. and thought maybe it should be set so the AI cannot choose it to disrupt play.. as the Pennsylvania mod was setup (very nicely, I might add)
You could say the same about Quebec as well.. the problem is everyone sees different things as fitting to the "theme" or legitimacy.. and the great thing about Civilization 4 is if you don't like it, you can make your own mod.. never has a game been easier to mod, in my opinion
Sadistik Nov 30, 2005, 01:56 PM Up to you, I guess.. but Boru was by far the most famous of Irish kings, so there'd really be no replacing him. I didn't want to have to use him since you already had, but as I said, there's no one (aside from Brian, Edward Bruce, and Niall of the Nine Hostages) that anyone outside of Ireland has even heard of.

sing with me...."don't worry!! be happy!!"
of course i will, however, some of these mods are more completed than some others (LH design, flag solutions)
the only one i won't add is Italy since it just replace the existing Roman
Also, do you have to include texas and pennsylvania? I find them a disruption of the "theme" of civ4.
you can prevent them for being choosed by the AI (another things to do, explain how to disable some civ)
However, since this is a gathering mod, there won't be civ that won't be included (apart from some like italy that replace rome, the lovecraft one, or the firaxians...the main list in the sticky thread are the one that i will include)
about Brian Boru, i'm gonna try to see if you can include him twice in a game (like you play as the celt and can meet him as the Irish), or if you can meet him only once.
if it cause some game problems, i will...well, i don't know yet!!!:(

I don't see why not. I recall being able to have multiple AI's using the same leader. Then again, even if you can't, you could always just rename one of them in the XML from Brian_Boru to Brian_Boru2 or something. So far I've noticed that anything is possible ;)
David Smith Nov 30, 2005, 02:39 PM I agree with Kandalf, take out the states and put them in a Mod about Alternate US history or the like. :goodjob:
And why not separate mods for different regions ie: europe / middle east /asia / africa / etc., so that players could see how that region might be changed in "What If" mode.
Instead of the ever growing "Super Mod", let's just have one super mod for the major powers and then mods for each of the regions. Also possibly to have era mods for when those other Minor powers where the Major factors. :worship:
All that as a reasonable compromise until either: Firaxis or some programer comes up with a method to simply and easily add civ's and other mods together. :worship:
Just an idea, so instead of trying to keep expanding your super mod, lets try comprmise.
Also size might become factor soon, with an ever increasing numbers of civ's coming out. Can you see downloads in hundreds of MB. AND THEN Firaxis puts out a NEW patch that means everything must be corrected or changed to get the Super Mod to work. :aargh: :rotfl: :suicide:
Better you than me. :salute:
LAnkou Nov 30, 2005, 02:46 PM well, i really like to have so much civ...
but if you want to make these mods, up to you...
Jecrell Nov 30, 2005, 05:03 PM I stick by the understanding that LAnkou has the right to choose what mods are included and what mods are unincluded.
I believe that SuperCiv is an excellent project.
However, later on when we have sooo many Civilizations, it might be better to break them down into smaller packs along with the massive SuperCiv pack. So you could choose if you wanted all the civs, or just European Civs, or American State civs, Fantasy civs, ect.
JBearIt Nov 30, 2005, 05:34 PM Up to you, I guess.. but Boru was by far the most famous of Irish kings, so there'd really be no replacing him. While I agree that Brian Boru is the most famous of the Irish Kings, I disagree that there haven't been other Irish leaders that those outside of Ireland haven't heard of. Perhaps, you can move into more recent times for Eamon de Valera, Michael Collins, or Padraic Pearse? To the extent you want to use a static leaderhead, it shouldn't be too hard to download some portrait of de Valera or Collins (there was even a major movie about him starring Liam Neeson).
ggalindo001 Nov 30, 2005, 06:14 PM LAnkou,
First, let me say that this is hands down the best mod for Civ 4. I too enjoy playing with all the different "realistic" civilizations that are included in your mod (I'm not hip on Curt Shilling being Alaska, but that is my issue, and I changed him to James Seward who brokered the US purchase of Alaska), and am very grateful that you are taking the wonderful work done by many and making this the "must have" mod for Civ 4.
For what it is worth, (and it isn't much since it is your mod), but I think you should do what you want to do, and not worry about the people saying they want it "slimmed down", or without states, etc. It is your's; you should do what you want with it, don't let any of us unduly influence your work.
Keep up the good work, I (and many other civvers that don't always crash the boards) REALLY appreciate it.
I hope one day I see you in multiplayer, so I can "crush your worthless civilization" :)

well, i know i'm Superciv god (mouah ah ah ah, insane moment of pride), however, i like to hear people opinions because, all modders will tell you that, i mod not only for me (i wouldn't have to upload this 70MB+ files for the third time #&%+ing hosting website that doesn't work!!!) but for other people to and i really like to have some feedback. The "Brian Boru case" is typical...if it was just me, i would get rid of the irish one, since i prefer to have him in my mods, but i hope people to enjoy the mod and i wonder what i should do!!
On the opposite, this mod have some "home rules and goals" that define what i include or not: all civs of existing nations, states, part of the world without regarding them as valuable or not (i just check the level of advancement of the mod before including it, that's why some interresting civ are left aside at the moment)
I hope one day I see you in multiplayer, so I can "crush your worthless civilization" :)
Don't you remember, i have 30 worthless civilizations that will unite to crush yours...
LAnkou Dec 01, 2005, 03:54 AM Ok V1.04 is up
Have fun!!!
BlowPhish Dec 01, 2005, 06:23 AM Do you still have to install the first version before 1.04? If so where is the link to download it?
LAnkou Dec 01, 2005, 07:15 AM no it si only one file, no more V1.00

Adding Irish Republican leaders causes a sectarian divide. That would be like having Cromwell.

Wyz_sub10 Dec 01, 2005, 08:58 AM I stick by the understanding that LAnkou has the right to choose what mods are included and what mods are unincluded.
Exactly.
If people don't want 'Civ X' included, simply edit the XML to disable them. It's quite an easy thing to do.
Merging many, many files - including graphics and TXT files, and getting them to work properly - is a huge undertaking that LAnkou is basically doing alone. So I think he's earned the right to include whatever he so chooses.
Lachlan Dec 01, 2005, 10:13 AM Problem i can't download the 1.04 :(
Too busy ?
Too many downloads ?
Thank you because i'm really not tempted by your mod ! :goodjob:
FullyCompletely Dec 01, 2005, 03:13 PM Download not workin here either.
Jecrell Dec 01, 2005, 03:21 PM I'm gonna have to look at these mod files -- 75 megs is a rediculous amount of megs for this kind of mod. 10-12 tops would make sense.
LAnkou Dec 01, 2005, 03:21 PM I changed the link
hope it works
FullyCompletely Dec 01, 2005, 07:06 PM Working nicely now. I personally removed Pennsylvania and the ridiculous Alaska civ and altered Georgia to represent all of the confederate states. I also strongly urge the author of this mod to include a different version of Israel, the included one really is lacking. There's another one posted in this forum somewhere with the Maccabee as the UU rather than the not-so-unique war chariot. Otherwise, nice effort (thumbs up)
FullyCompletely Dec 01, 2005, 07:45 PM Uh, forgot - also dumped Quebec as the fact it ripped the Napoleon leaderhead was buggin me.
SCarton Dec 01, 2005, 09:00 PM I'm getting a CRC mismatch in that file...anyone else?
FullyCompletely Dec 01, 2005, 09:14 PM Not I.
BTW, to the author of the mod - you should consider including the leaders from the 50 leader pack. That would be really awesome.
Jecrell Dec 01, 2005, 10:37 PM Make the music into a seperate -- optional -- download. It is too large.
LAnkou Dec 02, 2005, 03:32 AM well, i'm gonna make another version w/o music, but i would prefer "cutting" and keep the first minute of every music file, nobody needs the rest...(original music last 1minute for leaders)
and about the 50 leaders, i've already answer this but here it is again: since there is an israeli mod, and for personnal reason, i won't include Hitler in my mod, however, i imagine the merging quite simple...(3 xml files to modify, plus the art) so people can do it themselves
for the Israeli civ, i'm gonna use the work of both mod and merge them i think
LAnkou Dec 02, 2005, 04:15 AM add a version w/o music
FullyCompletely Dec 02, 2005, 04:52 PM Would you add the leaders Mod minus Hitler?
LAnkou Dec 02, 2005, 07:19 PM that would be an idea...
but i need to check if there are others leaders that i can't add (for personnal reason, this time, Mussolini would be a no way too, but don't ask me why, Staline is OK, period, no debate about this)
others people interrested by this?
Jecrell Dec 02, 2005, 07:26 PM that would be an idea...

I don't think you can just rip that mod apart and add in the leaders you like/dislike. You'd have to ask the mod creator.
Personally I find Hitler an important addition. Sure he's no hero, but neither is Mao or Genghis Kahn. And what better opponent to have in a WWI clash scenario with FDR and Winston Churchill?
Although, I don't think anything I say will sway you, because for some reason a lot of people are still treating this generation as if it was born 50 years ago. It upsets me.
ggalindo001 Dec 02, 2005, 07:36 PM that would be an idea...

Count me in, I'd be interested. With or without Hitler or Mussolini.
FullyCompletely Dec 02, 2005, 07:45 PM I'd also be interested.
LAnkou Dec 02, 2005, 08:10 PM sorry Jecrell, but Hitler and Mussolini are a no way for me and my family, there won't be more discussion about it
i'll ask Llotyhy but it will be without them, or it won't be...
period, end of the discussion
woodelf Dec 03, 2005, 07:28 AM Another great job L'Ankou. Looks like there will be a 1.05 soon since CivArmy just made a ton of skinned 3d LHs.... :)
SCarton Dec 03, 2005, 09:07 PM I'm getting a CRC mismatch in that file...anyone else?

Second: what about Austria-Hungary as civ?
Austria-Hungary mod is here:http://www.civforum.de/showthread.php?t=28239
but its a german forum
LAnkou Dec 04, 2005, 11:16 AM why not, but it would be nice if the author of the mod (or anyone else) post it on CFC forums...
jspanglet Dec 05, 2005, 11:47 PM Where do I put this? I downloaded version 1.04 and got an rar file. I put in the mods folder but it doesn't work. Do I have to download earlier versions?
James
SCarton Dec 06, 2005, 01:21 AM You have to unrar the rar into the mods folder to make it work.
FullyCompletely Dec 06, 2005, 04:06 PM jspanglet - a rar is a highly compressed file, similar to a .zip file only even more compressed. You need a special program to "unrar" it, I suggest Winrar.
Lankou - I got bored of waiting for you to merge the 50 Leader mod with Superciv, so I went ahead and did it myself, Hitler and Franco included. ooo.

Good for you
sorry if other people find it long but, i just enjoy one game before merging mods again... (playing the celt, normal map, continents, aiming domination or conquest, kicked cherokee, Zulu, almost Rome, and I'm a great friend of the Japanese...Napoleon and Stephan Dusan are here too...)
(Is it because i'm not that good in english, or FullyCompletely's post is a little "rude"?)
woodelf Dec 06, 2005, 04:58 PM Not really rude, but unnecessary IMO. Keep up the good work L'Ankou.
FullyCompletely Dec 06, 2005, 05:21 PM I'm sorry you felt it was rude, it was tongue-in-cheek. I don't expect you to work on your mods like a roman salt mine slave.
LAnkou Dec 07, 2005, 04:44 PM Ok boys and girls (especially girls)
I just had a domination victory (see below), so i'm going to work on Superciv by now
priority:
updates (top of the head: scotland, magyar, a few flavor things for Canada)
Mixing (Yariks and Civarmy versions of Israel, will take UU, new leader and artwork from civarmy)
Changes (top of the head: LH for scotland, Bulgaria, even the current one are good, they are confusing, and quebec)
adding (civ missing, the more advanced one first, leaders mod)
then:
doing some more pack (top of the head):
US States
Balkans
updating Bretagne and Celts (1 new leaders each, definitely nominoë for Bretagne, need help on Celt Thread to choose)
making some stats (which traits are the most used? How many girls?...some futile things)
play another game, i still doesn't have win a conquest
Below are some proof that celts are the best
marshallstack Dec 12, 2005, 12:50 PM wow, was going to ask that the Axies and Allies be added for the ability to play a WWII sim, but not adding hitler or mussolini to it would drop the immersion factor to nil. sigh.
marshallstack Dec 12, 2005, 02:47 PM After reading through this thread again, and feeling a little bad bout the tone of my last post , I would like to offer a suggestion!!!
Myself, when I play C4, its all about Immersion! I want to recreat history, or even play an alternate version of it.. that being said I would really like to see a Controversial Leaders mod made and added to this (a great mod already)
Some suggestion on some of the leaders i would like to play as/against.
Yasser Arafat - Palastine
Hitler - WW2 Germany
Benito Mussolini - WW2 Germany
winston churchill- WW2 England
More axies-allies!!
G.W. Bush - lol come on just to see him ask for oil would be worth it!
2nd Arab leader- Saladin is lonely :)
These are just a few of the ones of the top of my head. I can TOTALLY understand the thread creator for his reasons of not wanting some of the Civ Leaders, I just hate political correctness lol
LAnkou Dec 12, 2005, 06:42 PM ok for the controversial leader mod, but propose it in another thread... you're off topic
and about my reasons, you can't understand them since there are personnal :)
LAnkou Dec 12, 2005, 07:29 PM ok i was updating croatia and magyar, and i want to thank Anima Croatorum publicly.
Anima manages to create a text files with all the changes in his mod. that really helps me for updating civs
Besides that, he has a really good idea: he put all the sound and art files in a "separate" folder (and wrote good links)
if you want your civs to be updated as soon as possible, i advice you to create a file like the ones Anima Croatorum have created.
again, thank you Anima Croatorum
PS: V1.05 is on his way and sing with me: "don't worry be happy"

ggalindo001 Dec 14, 2005, 06:10 PM Agree, completely classless. Something I would not expect on this forum, esp. about someone that has given so much to the community as a whole.
Waiting all that patiently for 1.05 to come out. Actually, I have been working on a Mega Mod with many other Mods; this is the last to merge into it.
L'Ankou, thanks again for all of your hard work! :goodjob:
Thormodr Dec 15, 2005, 03:19 AM Completely agree. These forums have no need for that kind of garbage.
Thank you for all your hard work LAnkou :)

Anima Croatorum Dec 17, 2005, 02:38 PM Thanks, glad you liked the new concept. I'm really looking forward to 1.05, keep up the good work!
I'm interested in one thing: Is there a possible problem with duplicate city names. (IE. Paris, France - Paris, Texas) do duplicate entries cause errors? It might be better if city variables also used national coding.
IE. not:
TXT_KEY_CITY_NAME_PARIS but TXT_KEY_CITY_NAME_TEXAS_PARIS for Paris, Texas
As number of civs increases, there is bound to be duplicate name conflicts.
LAnkou Dec 17, 2005, 02:46 PM well, if a player created Paris (for the French), and another one try to create Paris (Texas), even if we make the TXT_KEY thing, it wont take the name of Paris, it will just take the next one on the list....
Anima Croatorum Dec 17, 2005, 02:56 PM All is well as long as the entries do not cause errors.
IE. if both France and Texas have TXT_KEY_CITY_NAME_PARIS. I think thats the only situation I didnt give thought to.
Psychic_Llamas Dec 18, 2005, 09:36 PM Greetings all!!
I absolutly love this mod :) it rocks! Ive been playing as Celts, Scottish and Mayans they all rule (literally :) )
Just a quick question though: is it possible for you LAnkou to add new leaders to the original civs? (because im useless at moding civ 4) I would really love to see Ramses II as another Egyptian Leader (Industrious and Creative) and would some one also make an Australian / Aboriginal Civ???
Once again i Love this mod. Thanks LAnakou.

When starting Civ4, hold 'Shift' to clear the cache. Then try loading the mod.

homersheineken Dec 20, 2005, 02:44 PM Is this mod compatible with other mods, say Savo's Fusion mod, for example??
David Smith Dec 21, 2005, 06:27 AM Is There Going To Be A 1.05v???? Just Asking???;)
LAnkou Dec 21, 2005, 07:31 AM yes
I hope to give you some christmas gift
if i manage to do all that i want, the leader mod will be include (without the leader i don't want to be in, again, no discussion about that) and even if last version of scotland is without william wallace, i think i will keep it...
thanks for the kind words
David Smith Dec 21, 2005, 08:55 AM Thank you very much, :goodjob: This Mod is great. :worship: I can hardly wait!!!! :D :salute:
homersheineken Dec 21, 2005, 11:20 AM Hey Lankou,
Look fwd to using your mod!! But i'm not sure if you answered my question on compatibility or was responding to the question right after mine.
Can it be used in conjunction with other 'super' mods like Savo's without alot of work?
Thanks!
Mr_V Dec 21, 2005, 12:09 PM Can I tag along with another question - will you update the civilizations currently included in the mod if they have been updated to later versions on their own?
Or, if it's too much work, write a short guide how we could do it with your mod if we have those smaller updated mods?
And thanks for so much good work! Can't wait for Christmas :king:

I think he's been doing that all along. If you check on page one you can see what versions have been updated.
Mr_V Dec 21, 2005, 01:55 PM Great, cheers :)
kandalf Dec 21, 2005, 01:59 PM How are you choosing which mods for each civ to use?
LAnkou Dec 21, 2005, 06:43 PM normally, mods are not compatible (but i think blue marble is since there is no xml changes)
i update mods (and that's what take a lot of time, except Anima Croatorum ones since he make an additionnal text files with all the changes)
and basically, i generally choose the first mod made (with some exception, Israel will be a mix of the two existing one)
GeneralX Dec 22, 2005, 05:36 AM I can see that you have put a lot of effort into this. Fine work. :)
I really like Charcoals Australian Mod. Is there any chance of seeing it included? Some of us in the Southern hemisphere are feeling a bit left out. :(
gps5478 Dec 22, 2005, 08:13 AM It looks like a great mod, however I've been unable to load it. I have downloaded Superciv V.1.04 and extracted it to the mod folder under a folder called Bretagne (also tried to name a folder Superciv and extracted it there) but after loading the mod (under advanced, load mod) I still come up with only the civs given with the game. I have tried clearing the cache and then loading it...and get the same thing. I am running ver 1.09 of civ IV and wonder if maybe that has something to do with it; I am also running the blue marble terrain overlay but I've read that the two are compatible. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you a mod folder, you need *two* folders (main + subfolder) - 'Mod_name'/Assets/
LAnkou Dec 22, 2005, 10:20 PM ok with the release of the 1.52 patch, i'm going to check and fix what i've done so far before releasing a V1.05 that wouldn't be playable for people with the patch
with the ending of the year approaching, i won't have so much time to get the job done before 2006, but don't worry, 2006 will see V1.05 (and i think 1.06 and others too :) )
australia will be in V1.06 and i hope all developped mods too...
be sure that i'm concerned by your demands...
now i'm gonna diseapear of the forums until 2006 cause i will have some social life: my girlfriend is coming, hate civ 4 cause i play to much and she prefer me being with her rather than on the computer. i do prefer being with her than on the computer too, because she will go back to Nice after new year's day...
to sum up, like arnold used to say: I'll be back...don't worry

A much deserved break! Have a nice one!
Al.Friedman Dec 25, 2005, 12:54 AM Here's one to think about when you get back - the Confederate states of America mod, because come on, you gotta' have the rebels!
Skelter Dec 29, 2005, 10:09 PM What about adding the Elves and Lovecraft civs? I'd love to see the Great Old Ones throw down with the Turks just once before I die.
Zibby Dec 30, 2005, 09:07 AM The Australian civ is one of my favorites (being aussie and all), Id love for that to make it into the next super civ mod
Haarbal Dec 30, 2005, 10:54 AM What about adding the Elves and Lovecraft civs? I'd love to see the Great Old Ones throw down with the Turks just once before I die.
my elf civs are only competable with the fall from heaven mod, because that mod alters some files that need to be altered if you're adding a civ (civ4leaderheadinfos.xml and civ4civilizationinfos.xml), because of new technologies and new civics.
haarbal
Rshu Dec 31, 2005, 11:59 AM LAnkou, do you have any other links to your mod? The site you uploaded to does not support download managers.
Frayer Dec 31, 2005, 02:01 PM Great mod :D
add Poland please :)
coldcell Dec 31, 2005, 05:23 PM Is this mod compatible with the latest 1.52 patch?
meatwad4289 Jan 01, 2006, 12:06 PM confederacy..... lol
honestly RE LEE IS THE BEST LEADER EVER.
Zibby Jan 01, 2006, 11:51 PM While Im requesting civs to go in, also like the philipines to go in, Ive downloaded it as a seperate mod, but Id love it to make it into superciv
Merebimur Jan 03, 2006, 05:55 AM Is this mod compatible with the latest 1.52 patch?
Seems to be ok , I havent had any probs .
Wyz_sub10 Jan 03, 2006, 09:02 AM Seems to be ok , I havent had any probs .
Some values changed for the existing leaders, so playing with this mod will use the old values (I believe). The changes to those files were minor in any case.
Merebimur Jan 04, 2006, 05:43 AM Just wondering , how come the abyssinians flag is white in the game , its not showing the proper flag , tried editing but it stays white .
Wyz_sub10 Jan 04, 2006, 08:41 AM Just wondering , how come the abyssinians flag is white in the game , its not showing the proper flag , tried editing but it stays white .
It's a common problem among all mods. It has to do with the alpha channel, I believe, but it seems to affect only some people.
LAnkou Jan 05, 2006, 04:42 AM hello people, hadn't been there for a while, but hey, it was christmas and new year with my girlfriend...
for the moment, i have a problem with the text file (wrong character, but i really don't know why...), i may post it here if someone know how to resolve that, but i will focus on it before any other change...
Wyz_sub10 Jan 05, 2006, 12:05 PM You can email it to me if you want. I had my fair share of hiccups for the First Peoples mod because of 1.52.
abilard Jan 06, 2006, 07:48 AM Wow. Fantastic work compiling and producing a broad number of civs.
Anyone out there working on the Byzantines? Would be a great civ to have in any Medieval European scenario.
David Smith Jan 06, 2006, 10:28 AM When is v1.05 comming out, I can hardly wait.
LAnkou Jan 06, 2006, 11:46 AM well, i try to fix an xml problem
here is the file:
http://www.filegone.com/tyis
if someone manage to fix it, tell me what were wrong, cause i have a bunch of new civ to add and it would be cool to know what were the problem if it appears again with the others civs...
LAnkou Jan 09, 2006, 04:33 PM great news everyone!!!!
i find a way to know which caracter were wrong in the xml text file!!! so i now can focus on adding civs again!!!
i hope to release V1.05 in the next two weeks (maybe before if i work well).
I will try to add all the different civs that miss Superciv(and that's quite a big work), so get ready to download!!!
HIH (Hope It Helps TM)
Pratputajao Jan 10, 2006, 05:26 AM I see many are adding requests? So, for what its worth... Personally I would love to see The Siamese empire added. I know Civarmy (I think?) have already done the Khmer but it was the Siamese who put the nails in their coffin and still exist as a major power in SE asia (Thailand) cant say the same for Cambodia... Plus it is the only country in Southeast Asia (incl. India) not to be conquered/colanized by France or Britan. On top of that it is the best place in the world for Vacation (not to mention having some of the best looking woman on the planet as well!!!)
Had thought of doin' it myself and then looked at the XML.. Huh? its greek to me? Actually I get alot of it but some of it I havent a clue... I can post/send all the Info anyone needs- Cities, Leaders, starting techs, traits, ect... Someone???
Anyway, thanks for all the great work so far!!!!!!!!!
LAnkou Jan 10, 2006, 07:43 PM for the one interrested, here is so far where i am in the developpement of 1.05 (hope it will satisfied a little the very impatient ones)
V1.05
update to
Patch 1.52 (the big work with the text file totally messed up with é, à, ç, ù and a lot of other french, spanish, portuguese, italian, german, serbo-croat and italian strange characters. and some "," "-" and other """ that were in another truetype, almost 1 week of work to understand that the "wrong ponctuation" was messing up the file)
Croatia 1.02
Magyar 1.04
Scotland V1.02 (William Wallace kept because i like him and i have some special diplo sound for him, a free download of V1.05 -when avalaible- for the first one to tell me which song is used -three different variant of the same song-)
mix:
between Ariks and civarmy Israel
add:
Australia by Charcoal
Argentina by Civarmy s.1994 (civarmy, you make it so much easier for me!!! is it related to the next level mod?)
bonus:
diplo sound size are smaller (thanks Anima Croatorum for the tips) and so it will be lighter than before
on work (priority):
bulgaria V1.03 (update)
Ireland and wales by sadistic (priority for celtic civ, that should had been in for a long time )
civarmy's civ (about a half dozen)
Philipines (requested by some people)
Austria (because Sissi was cast on TV recently in France and i want to crush Francois-Joseph)
California (requested)
i may release V1.05 at this point but the following are bonuses (and unfortunatly, some of the previous may appear only at 1.06)
giving some LH and art to the old civ missing (top of the head: william wallace, Quebec)
other civs (they don't have so much art (LH, colours, skinned units) so they are not a priority
PS:
1) if you want some pictures of what i've done so far, just tell it so in this thread
2) I appreciate that people make request (it proves that my work worth it), but i appreciate more that people request civs that had been modded.
If you people want a civ to be added in Superciv, and nobody modded it, just try to do it, it's not that complicated. Then we can discuss if this civ could be in the next release...
3) I really, and i mean really, dislike that people make requests of civ to be modded in the subforum. i'm fed up to see "Siamese civ" as a thread and discover that the guy want the work to be done. maybe someone can create a sticky request thread so people ask in it. Sorry for the people i offensed but i can't bear it anymore.
4) i like to see screenshots when i look at a new civ. So i know what to expect (Skinned unit or not, LH, etc...) By experience, i work faster and better on screenshotted civ!!!
Shqype Jan 10, 2006, 08:19 PM Perhaps you can add my Chechen and (soon to be available) Basque civs as well into your superciv mod?
Supreme Shogun Jan 10, 2006, 09:32 PM I think getting some of CivArmys work would rock. Maybe combine mods? Like adding Next Level Mod? Also have you tried the "Leaders" mod by Lytothy ? I don't know how to put mods together but I would put those two in.
MatzeHH Jan 10, 2006, 10:19 PM I think getting some of CivArmys work would rock. Maybe combine mods? Like adding Next Level Mod?
Have you read Lankous last posting?
...
civarmy's civ (about a half dozen)
...
Matze
Nazmazh Jan 12, 2006, 12:34 AM Perhaps the First People's Pack by Wyz? Seeing as it adds several civs. Also, keep up the good work. Your superciv definately makes things easier.
grazwell Jan 12, 2006, 06:54 AM I'm looking forward to this, just waiting for the new version since I have 1.52.
Great effort LAnkou
volke112 Jan 12, 2006, 04:00 PM awsome!!!!! now i can finally play as serbia!
LAnkou Jan 14, 2006, 07:51 PM V1.05 out!!!
1) I love the way Anima Croatorum wrote his civs. (Wish everybody wrote a change log and a separate art folder)
2) i hope the author of Philippines will do the same...
3) as you can see, there is not everything that i said to do. California is missing, but, don't worry, i expect to release V1.06 quite soon. And before you ask for it, i will do a patch V1.05->V1.06. To say the truth, i was bored to add civs, without any releasing, that's why i make a little break.
4) I will update Bretagne and the Celts (third leader, remember?) before 1.06 and maybe do Italy or Belgium (more Italy than Belgium, but who knows?)
5) I lessen the size of some sound file, meaning you have more with smaller. More people DL the vanilla V1.04 and only a few the soundout, does i really need to make a soundout version? if yes, i'm sorry to say that but that will wait 1.06 i think. But don't be shy and tell me if you need, i will surely do it for 1.06. If you don't tell me, i won't do a soundout version.
6)the changelog and the link are on the first page.
Happy Civing
don't hesitate to tell me what's wrong (bugs, white flag, etc, etc, i will try to correct it as soon as possible)
Dusty4prez Jan 14, 2006, 08:07 PM Curse You :P Just as I added the leader mod to it >.<
Dusty4prez Jan 14, 2006, 08:11 PM Oh and if you want any help adding new civs I can do it I think. So you could create civs :P.
crazyjoe0813 Jan 14, 2006, 08:24 PM OK, I know I'm blind, but I can't seem to find the download file for this Super Civ... Where is it?
Dusty4prez Jan 14, 2006, 08:25 PM Um he has to finish uploading it. It isn't there yet.
crazyjoe0813 Jan 14, 2006, 08:29 PM OK, then maybe I'm not as blind as I thought... :-)
LAnkou Jan 14, 2006, 09:22 PM now, if you not find it, you are blind!!!
finish uploading!!!
sorry Dusty4prez, the leaders mod is on the way too...but it's not a priority.
Dusty4prez Jan 14, 2006, 09:48 PM I was just joking It just took me along time to put it together because it was my first time combining :D Now it's quite easy. Anyways, thanks for release it'll be awesome I imagine :D
Dusty4prez Jan 15, 2006, 12:18 AM Well perhaps its just me but I keep getting an error in the Diplomacy text xml that says it doesn't start and end with the same tag. I tried to fix it but I get what you se in the main C&C forum
smartstyle Jan 15, 2006, 02:52 AM There is a serious problem in parsing the file CIV4Diplomacyinfos.xml when loading the new Superciv mod. The previous version was fine, but those new version have a problem with the diplmacy. The game starts and while starting warns for the problem in parsing the xml file then when I play i cannot negotiate with the other leaders. There is probably error somewhere. Please fix it as soon as possible we wanna play. I suspect the problem might be in the Australian civ mod because i tried those version before and it had the same problem.
Thankz for the good job the superciv mod i perfect.
GeneralX Jan 15, 2006, 03:39 AM Good job LAnkou :goodjob: . This is a major project and your efforts are greatly appreciated. I've also had a problem with the diplomacy thingy. I have attached a screen shot for your reference.
LAnkou Jan 15, 2006, 05:27 AM strange, i don't have this problem.
try this hotfix (zipfile)
and put it in the Superciv/assets/xml/gameinfo folder (answer yes when replacing is asked)
HIH
Dusty4prez Jan 15, 2006, 11:08 AM Could someone please host the file with another one.(filefront) Rapidshare doesn't like me...Anyways it says there are too many people downloading.
Dusty4prez Jan 15, 2006, 12:35 PM Hmmm LAnkou there still is a problem for me.
LAnkou Jan 15, 2006, 12:45 PM do you have a problem with the diplofile or with downloading the mod?
Dusty4prez Jan 15, 2006, 12:46 PM Diplo file.
Dusty4prez Jan 15, 2006, 12:58 PM Actually nevermind I fixed it by myself if anyone is still having the problem I can post my diplo file.
LAnkou Jan 15, 2006, 01:33 PM i'm interrested (saving time), so you may post it
thanks by advance
Dusty4prez Jan 15, 2006, 01:40 PM Here i think this is the one.
http://files.filefront.com/CIV4DiplomacyInfosrar/;4619020;;/fileinfo.html
CFC wouldn't take it for some reason...
LAnkou Jan 15, 2006, 01:42 PM where? (oh my god!! i'm blind too :p )
GeneralX Jan 16, 2006, 12:28 AM Dusty, is it available on something other than the FastPass server?
LAnkou Jan 16, 2006, 04:20 AM yes i agree, i can't DL it without being asked to register (and i don't want to)
ashy larry Jan 16, 2006, 06:43 AM this looks and sounds incredible but i cant figure out how to get it working. Ive downloaded v1.05 and realize this may only be an update but where can i download 1.0?? also i have put superciv1.05.rar into C:program files/firaxis/civ4/mods what do i do now? thanks a lot for your help and all the work everyone put into making this!
Wyz_sub10 Jan 16, 2006, 08:31 AM A .rar file is an archive file (like "zip"). Download WinRAR (it's free) to unzip the contents of that folder to the mods directory.
P.S. I was just thinking about the Ashy Larry skit this morning for some reason.
Dusty4prez Jan 16, 2006, 11:31 AM If you want it on rapidshare
http://rapidshare.de/files/11175477/CIV4DiplomacyInfos.rar.html
LAnkou Jan 16, 2006, 05:13 PM thanks for the file
I change the colors of civ by using the color table.
Exceptions: I didn't changed vanilla civ colors and almost all new civ colors made by their creators (top of head: netherland orange, carthage maroon, texas blue, serbian blue and israel blue). the others original colors were changed very slightly to match colors of the colortable.
do you think i should post the list of the color used?
BloodCelt Jan 16, 2006, 09:06 PM thanks for the file

Cant Hurt, soon as I can figure out how to alter them myself, I have a strong desire to create a Confederate Empire with a good butternut colorscheme since most of the blues and reds are covered.
LAnkou Jan 16, 2006, 09:30 PM i reserve this color for the confederate empire...
Supreme Shogun Jan 16, 2006, 11:57 PM @MaatzeHH: Yes I did read what he said about it, thats what prompted me to ask. Civarmy has been firing out a lot of civs lately ( a very good thing ) and the next level mod is one package where a good many are already put together. What I was suggesting that it may be easier to add 1 grouping of civs than all those civs individually..
@Lankou: Thank you for your hard work. I really love it and play superciv a lot.
GeneralX Jan 17, 2006, 03:33 AM If you want it on rapidshare

Thanks Dusty. I appreciate your efforts.:)
Biffa Jan 17, 2006, 05:31 AM I can never ever ever!!! get rapidshare to work for me, I don't know why!!
Is there anywhere else I can download this amazing sounding superciv file from please?
Cheers
Biffa
LAnkou Jan 17, 2006, 06:25 AM well, it takes a lot of time to upload on a host, and i don't know a better host than rapidshare...
what exactly is your problem with it?
Biffa Jan 17, 2006, 09:52 AM well, I know using the free version you can't use download managers...even though clicking ont eh link always tries to use one!!
I've tried to download from within IE and also with Firefox but with no joy. :-(
Dusty4prez Jan 17, 2006, 11:33 AM Go to my first link, it uses filefront. You might have to sign up though.(I didn't remember signing up for it when i downloaded from it the first time >.>)
Dusty4prez Jan 17, 2006, 11:34 AM Oh actually I'll also try to upload superciv file too.
Biffa Jan 17, 2006, 11:37 AM ok thanks, will check back later :-) can't wait to get this file and get going!!!
cheers
biffa
LAnkou Jan 17, 2006, 12:00 PM thanks for doing that Dusty, will post the link on the first page
on the first page, there is a picture of something i've done for the main menu screen, tell me what you think about it....
Dusty4prez Jan 17, 2006, 02:40 PM http://files.filefront.com/SupercivV105rar/;4629069;;/fileinfo.html
Oh and the front looks great not like the Blue Marble thing :D
Biffa Jan 17, 2006, 02:51 PM Im beggining to think Im not meant to get this file...........still can't download, but thanks for trying! :-(
Im getting invalid username or password....but Ive checked those (even tho it says i dont need to register to download or upload...I have registered but that doesnt work either.) Again I tried with DAP, FDM, MassDownlaoder and straight IE and Firefox...no joy.
Not sure what to do next :-(
SinkingDutchman Jan 17, 2006, 03:00 PM Oops sorry, I replied to the wrong thread. I downloaded your mod too and those flags work fine. Really like how you changed Isabella in this Breton beauty.
LAnkou Jan 17, 2006, 03:18 PM UU ships are things to avoid:
1) it depends too much of the map
2) consequently it is very difficult to balance such UU
about the black flag, i will try to do something, but it's the first time it happends. In general, flags are white when there is a bug...
and for the leader and UU, i'm not the one who design the civ, so i won't change things...
Don't feel bad, you got for leaders, when others civ just have one...
Ohtar Jan 17, 2006, 07:14 PM LAnkou - thanks for the mod and Dusty - thanks for the Diplo file fix :). I'm enjoying this mod immensely!
purplexus Jan 17, 2006, 08:45 PM Can This Program Work In A Multiplayer Format???
I have placed this folder in the Custom Assets folder of my "My Documents Folder" and When My Friend and I have tried to play with this mod loaded we cannot use any of the new civilizations :(
There is also a Warning that the files contained on the hosts computer may not match those of your computer message or something to that effect.
Responder sil vous plait mon ami
Merci
Dusty4prez Jan 17, 2006, 08:59 PM Hmmm I think to make it work in multiplayer, you have to both have the mod running(unzip it to the mods folder) and go to multiplayer.
LAnkou Jan 17, 2006, 10:01 PM well, you should put it the following folder:
C:/Program Files/Firaxis Game/Civilization4/mods
Biffa Jan 18, 2006, 03:04 AM Well....I got 2% downloaded in about 30 secs from Filefront using Free Download Manager...then it stopped with the error invalid username and password...
Any other ideas guys or places you can upload. Any chance of using a temporary FTP server I could get it from?
If so drop me an email / PM with the details - I would be extremelly grateful if you could as this mod looks the mutts nutts (or the bees knees!).
Cheers guys

cthom Jan 18, 2006, 06:39 AM just downloaded the superciv mod (hope my boss doesn't find out ;) )
Biffa Jan 18, 2006, 08:18 AM grrrr I'm soooo jealous.....and I'm off work today and itching to play this mod...!!!!!!!
smartstyle Jan 18, 2006, 10:10 AM That's a perfect modpack. Now if we have one good large Earth map with exact starting locations of all these civilizations it would be interesting game. Of course it'd require more RAM, but it could be an interesting game. I'll download that lattest post. Hopefully you fixed the CivDiplomacy problem which has appeared in the previous versions.
Jawsofwar Jan 18, 2006, 01:46 PM Can't get this to work fully functionally. When entering diplomacy I get no options. It will be blank and I cant get out of diplomacy without quiting. :(
Rees Jan 18, 2006, 01:50 PM Just installed here and I also have the problem with Diplomacy window.
I am downloading this fix you posted in the first post, and will post feedback.
BTW- should I just extract the new CIV4DiplomacyInfos file overwriting the original one in the XML folder?
Biffa Jan 18, 2006, 02:17 PM any chance of someone sticking this on an FTp for me plz - even a temp one so I can download it? :-) PLZ??! :-)
Dusty4prez Jan 18, 2006, 03:03 PM Yes, just overwrite it.
Dusty4prez Jan 18, 2006, 03:07 PM If anyone has problems with diplo file just speak up
TrueBlueAussie Jan 18, 2006, 05:00 PM Great work, LAnkou.
However I noticed in the Australian Civ the Adelaide is spelt wrong. ( Adelaide not adelade). Thought it should be fixed in the next update.
LAnkou Jan 18, 2006, 05:17 PM i will try to think about it...
Rees Jan 18, 2006, 05:17 PM I still have the problem with Diplomacy Window, even after adding this fix.
Nothing shows there, no buttons, text, whatever.
Anyone have same problem?
When loading the game to start it, I get an error message about line 657 in the file being wrong... I don't know.
Rees Jan 18, 2006, 05:28 PM The error says:
"XML Load Error
LoadXML call failed for GameInfo/CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml
Current XML file is: Misc/CIV4AttachableInfos.xml"
At the same time, another error window shows up, saying:
"XML Load Error
Failed loading XML file XML/GameInfo/CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml
[.\FXml.cpp:133 Error parsing XML file -
File: XML/GameInfo/CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml
Reason: the mark of end "Responses" does not coincide with the mark of beggining "Leaders".
Line: 657,6
Source:"
And that's all. After that the game loads normally, but with the same problem with the Diplomacy window.
Any ideas?
Rees Jan 18, 2006, 05:35 PM Just some more info on the bug, maybe it adds something.
Now I put the original backed up CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml there.
I started the game without the MOD, just the original game.
When loading the game I get an error message for each of the new Leaders from the MOD, and after clicking OK in each message the game starts normally. Diplomacy window working, everything all right again.
Remember, I am not even loading the MOD in this case.
Rees Jan 18, 2006, 05:46 PM Heck - sorry, my mistake.
Forget all my messages if you are not a newbie like me.
In case someone did the same mistake, I'll explain anyway.
I was putting the new diplo file in the original game Assets, not in the Supercivs assets - that's all.
All fixed now, all working - great MOD, great work.
Thanks for such a job.
Jawsofwar Jan 18, 2006, 06:49 PM Sorry I am still confused on how to fix this. I am not that smart when it comes to manipulating files. Btw the modded civs (some of them) have cool diplomacy music.
Lachlan Jan 19, 2006, 03:24 AM Lankou, can you take the Rhyes world ma and take it start for all these civs ?
Why Italy, we have Rome ?
Biffa Jan 19, 2006, 03:33 AM can someone stick this on an FTp for me plz?
Guess that's a no then......shame as the mod looks so good....:-(
Thanks anyway
