I've just sat through another town meeting. I don't know why I waste my time (ha, that is a laugh, time!) - all they do is bicker and fight amongst themselves. And they are always looking to me to help them win their arguments. I feel that it might be better as if I just told them to put their points of view to me as 'advice' and then I would tell them what we are going to do. Hmmn. It was another meeting where I didn't really listen, I just sat in my comfortable chair and day dreamed …

I remember it as if it was yesterday. For me it was. For Marci and the boys, well, enough said. I can still picture the scene …

"Marci, I feel rotten today. Was there anything special about last nights meal?"
"Um, no, not really. Oh, I did cook it in that nice stew bowl that the boys made from that sky stone. Well, it was nice until I washed it - I dunked it in the river and it cracked right down the middle."
"Ohhh, too loud. I'm going back to bed"

I was told later that many days passed before I recovered and everyone was very worried. I also remember that I told them it was time to move to the summer fields and that they should just leave me behind - I couldn't travel with them. It was very touching that they all decided to stay at the winter fields with me. I guess that this was the end of our nomadic days, the day we settled on this location and founded Syd-er-ney.

That was a few years ago now, actually, it was more than 80 years ago. I've found that everyone else has aged, but I stayed exactly the same - I wonder what that strange bowl has done to me and why it didn't effect anyone else?

I've decided to implement my 'tribe management plan' or TMP as I call it. I now call the shots but they get the chance to give me advice. Everyone who use to wander the land with me is dead, and, anyway, it could have changed since I last walked it. I've decided, and basically told the tribe that we need to find out more about our surroundings. I've send a warrior west. The next one will follow the Murrumbidgee river south.
