View Full Version : Undead warrior CrazyAce Nov 20, 2005, 12:57 PM This is my first and failed attempt to re-skin a warrior unit. Quinzy Nov 20, 2005, 01:23 PM its good for a ghost unit actually Random Observer Nov 20, 2005, 01:28 PM looks more zombie-like than ghost-like Quinzy Nov 20, 2005, 01:30 PM ok undead unit, and leave it at that ;) CrazyAce Nov 20, 2005, 02:22 PM That's perfect, I'll rename the unit to unded warrior. JDexter Nov 20, 2005, 03:04 PM Pretty scary guys!!! ;) But great for my beloved fantasy mods! Quinzy Nov 20, 2005, 03:07 PM great. glad i could help. you might wanna edit the first post so it doesnt say that this is a failed attempt :) CrazyAce Nov 20, 2005, 03:20 PM Na; it was a failed attempt to make a skeleton warrior, so I’ll leave it as is. This re-skin only took about 5 minuets to make, but because of the mistakes learned from this, I now know what to do for others. Dr. Zaius Nov 20, 2005, 07:58 PM is it possible to make this a unique unit? i ask because im a noob, but want a zombie invasion scenario for myself, and all i need is the proper unit ;) CrazyAce Nov 20, 2005, 09:28 PM Depends on who you assign it to. woodelf Nov 21, 2005, 05:08 AM It's bizarre, but in a good way. Vadus Nov 21, 2005, 08:41 AM is it possible to add a transparent skin, so that you can see only a skeleton ? The Great Apple Nov 21, 2005, 08:56 AM Transparent skins don't work to well in 3D. You cannot put depth into skins and so everything must be on the surface. If (for example) you had a transparent hat, looking down on it vertically would allow you to see the ground through the person, but looking at it horizontally it could just look like a guy without a hat. Vadus Nov 21, 2005, 09:03 AM right, so there is no workaround for a new 3D mesh  CrazyAce Nov 21, 2005, 09:14 AM Not using textures. If I can figure out how to use the *.nif files (which I think holds the mesh) then making a skeleton or a torn corps would be easy with 3ds Max. Dr. Zaius Nov 21, 2005, 01:39 PM i hope someone finds an easy way to add your own models soon, my milkshape is just rumbling with anticipation to mod civ 4... Dr. Zaius Nov 21, 2005, 01:40 PM i hope someone finds an easy way to add your own models soon, my milkshape is just rumbling with anticipation to mod civ 4... ChristianChink Dec 30, 2005, 10:45 PM it looks slightly like a zombie, no offense but it's just ok. Kael Dec 31, 2005, 11:41 AM is it possible to add a transparent skin, so that you can see only a skeleton ? I have a semi-transparent unit in my mod (the Shadow). I could make parts of him transparent and parts solid, but I wouldn't be able to new elements (like bones) inside of him. At that point it would be easier just to make a new model. |
