I know that Half-life 2 came out last year but I didnt have a good enough comp to play it back then.

I have heard that Fear's AI is good and the demo I tried was truly awesome, creepy and intense. On the other hand Half-life 2 is apparently the king of PC FPS and much more epic.

So, which one should I get??!?

Well, of course that is a solution but money is a problem for me... so I am getting only one game for now. Thing is, which game??

I've only played the FEAR demo, so am not a great source, but I would say go for HL2. You'll get CS: Source along with it as well, which is nice.

Yeah and plus other nifty mods fans are working with. I really hope that they'll soon complish Black Mesa: Source I don't know if it's free tho :( Seriously minus point of Steam. Think about that they have nerves to ask cash of DoD

EDIT: And if someone got curious here's link to Black Mesa: Source (http://www.blackmesasource.com/). If you look at the screenshots, pretty nifty huh :)

Half Life 2.

Although when I reinstalled it and tried to play it or anything else wouldnt start.

I was playing on the exact same computer I did a few months ago.

Edit: This thread sparked my intrest and I did some digging at Steam's website.

Apprently Zonealarm interferes with it and gives me similar errors. I might reinstall it.

That Black Mesa: Source looks pretty groovy, will have to keep up to date on it. :goodjob:

Yeah. Steam offers Valve team's original HL in Source but (surprise, surprise) they ask money for it and like said in Black Mesa homepage it was bit of disappointing, not enough what they could done with Source engine.

Weird that they don't want to please fanbase by giving free bies like this HL: Source

Am glad I didn't get HL:Source then. Thank goodness for the modding community :D
