When i try to start the GOTMitsays:
"can not load version 101, expected version 100"

i load whitout any mods
it can load/start other savegames...
i have the patch..

Sounds like a bad patch install if the game is looking for version 100. Try reinstalling the patch.

reinstall didn't help....
tried both civ4 and patch reinstalll.. :(

Were there any errors or warnings when you ran the patch installer?

If you want to upload a sample saved game file here, created from your current installation, we can have a look at it and see what version it seems to be.

I'm having the same problem. Here is a sample save game.

OK - I can confirm that's a v100 save file - looks like the patch hasn't installed. Did you try installing via the in-game menu? If so, then try the manual patch install (patch is here (http://www.civfanatics.net/downloads/civ4/patch/v109PATCHREL.exe))

@Sailsa: Your game software is still generating file version 100 saves, so it looks as if your upgrade has failed.

I was having the same problem. I reinstalled the patch and it still doesn't work. For some reason my game is still saving file version 100.

any suggestions?

I got the same problem i tryd to reinstall the game + patch, the patch alone ..
no clue whats wrong - i have the same problem with a view other downloaded Savegames ( Epic thingy for example ) >.< i have installed the German Language .. if this helps
