View Full Version : medal of honor
animepornstar Jan 20, 2002, 11:34 AM now i really disappointed. i thougt this game would feel realistic, but itīs just another walk-corridors-and-shoot-nazis game, like wolfenstein. the omaha beach mission was impressive until i reach the bunkers and realized that i had to do all the work by myself, like i was rambo or schwarzenegger. the best with this game is the sound fx:s, the best i ever heard.
damunzy Jan 20, 2002, 12:02 PM Is this the new FPS that is based around the WW2 era? If so the screen shots I have seen of it are impressive but I heard there is no blood and that sounds a bit weird.
kittenOFchaos Jan 20, 2002, 02:51 PM I've played the demo...will be playing the multiplayer on Tuesday night more likely than not.
It is not realistic, but it is pretty good fun...
If it were realistic your chap would be able to take a huge amount of punishment, THEN heal with the tonnes of health "packs" around (often from dead people). In addition you wouldn't be able to carry half a truckload of guns...
Considering it is a fact that the German Army in WW2 inflicted on American and British troops 50 % more casualties than they themselves suffered, be it in attack or defence (this is a generality) the way you wade through Germans is always disappointing.
This game is good fun as you get to frag baddies dressed up as nazis with a variety of weaponary and they have some pretty good methods of trying to avoid death. But it isn't a revolution in gaming HOWEVER the A.I -even if helped along by scripting- is much better than most/all games of this genre and the range of movement the A.I is capable of -from throwing itself onto grenades to save its friends- is impressive and works well.
I don't think I'll buy this game as it isn't going to provide me the satifaction I'm looking for in the games I play...I'm going to keep my money for Master of Orion 3 and play Medal of Honour and all those sorts multiplayer at Reality-X.

I have not had a chance to play medal of Honor as yet, but have played return to castle wolfenstein....I agree with you when you reach that bunker it is quite unreal. But on multiplayer it is absolutely immense.:)
Moff Jerjerrod Feb 01, 2002, 10:36 AM I bought MOHAA and have to say that I'm enjoying it a lot. Granted it is not realistic but the entertainment value it is providing me is great.
I usually stick to only TBS games or flight simulators. Not being a FPS person I must say that MOHAA is worth the investment based purely on the entertainment value. It also helps being a WW2 aficionado.

Wolfenstein is soooooo bad, it's okay if you want time to go, but it needs some serious changes!
Try Day of Defeat!
Richard III Apr 05, 2002, 08:57 AM Just bought it, just played it, had a blast. Maybe it isn't realistic, but it is EXTREMELY entertaining, and the look and feel is realistic, if gameplay isn't. I've got to Trondheim so far.
But then, I ignored two generations of FPS games, playing the original 3D Castle Wolfenstein to deal with any frustrations. But I find the cool reactions to this on the thread to be a bit of a surprise, actually.
Looking forward to MP. Should be chaos.
kittenOFchaos Apr 05, 2002, 09:26 AM Day of Defeat...hmm no. Medal of Honour is certainly better than that!
Hell, I preferred Firearms to Day 0f Defeat!
