Love CivIII, been playing since a couple of years but had not discovered civfanatics till recently!!!

So first thing I did was download GOTM23, related mod and got going. Well since I am normally a warlord with 8 civs or a regent with 3, I was completely messed up in a few turns.

Came back to civfanatics, read up some articles, particularly loved crackers tips on early starting moves and positions, got confidence, started again (as I am not competing in the actual GOTM, I thought that would be okay :-)

This time got the conquest sav file. Started off well, played the whole night, but at 390AD, I can spot myself going awry. Am 3rd in rankings but 9th in city count and cities are particularly badly placed, My Defense Minister warns that my military is weaker than almost 6 of the 9 civs in the game and since the whole map is visible to almost all civs I think war is on the horizon.

So at 5:00am today I sat and looked at my options using civassistII (another fantastic tool). You guys are a heaven sent for civilizationally challenged folks like me. Have come up with a strategy that could possibly provide me some respite during the coming war years as well as give me some time to make good my mistakes and come back in the game. Shall be posting a few pictures and my do or die attempt sometime in the evening today. Would love to get suggestions from the gurus on this forum and keep the story alive till Caliph Salahuddin lives at least. :-)

Okay. Another move I failed to anticipate. Damn why was I so late in finding out about civfanatics. Ending this thread. Would play GOTM50 with all the rest.

Cheers,
Lethal
