View Full Version : Deutscher Panzer Königstiger realistic Style
mirtan Dec 15, 2005, 08:12 PM A dirty Version of the heavy german Tank Panther 5 with original painting and a german Cross at the Turret.
I have added some shadows like the shadow of the 7,5 cm main gun, spareparts to the turret and dirt from the long ways over the enemy hills.
In addition I give you some better Tank-sounds, the original sounds like an old truck
Red Door Dec 15, 2005, 08:18 PM looks nice! I like how it's worn down.
JDexter Dec 16, 2005, 03:49 AM Real nice texture job (now go do some fantasy units! ;) )
Argh Dec 16, 2005, 06:32 AM Wowee, that looks really, really nice. Wil download when I get home :)
Thanks.
What are you doing next?
MeteorPunch Dec 16, 2005, 07:13 AM Looks real good in-game. Gritty and realistic.
ibcoltscrew Dec 16, 2005, 08:01 AM Good job. All unit should get minor modification like this, make the game feel more realistic.
Kaiserguard Dec 16, 2005, 08:13 AM Actually the model of Panzer is based on the Panzer 5 Panther.
Grohan Dec 16, 2005, 01:47 PM Excellent work!:goodjob:
Tommy1234567890 Dec 16, 2005, 05:56 PM Real nice texture job (now go do some fantasy units! ;) )
don't listen to him do some good ol' realistic unit!
beetlecat Dec 17, 2005, 12:19 PM Actually the model of Panzer is based on the Panzer 5 Panther.
Yeah, the skin looks fantastic, but it's actually a "Panther" not the Tiger II (King Tiger).
We'll have to wait new models are made to make the really cool tweaks!
ARFF1Tampa Dec 17, 2005, 01:44 PM Found where the sounds go. Where do unit graphics go?
Tunch Khan Dec 17, 2005, 01:54 PM Good and clean job. Gratz. :)
CellKu Dec 17, 2005, 02:18 PM Thanks for that nice skin! Very well done! :goodjob:
And the sound is great!
Tommy1234567890 Dec 17, 2005, 06:32 PM i got 2 questions
1.Is this a panzer tank reskin or a tank reskin?
2.Where doest the sound file
mirtan Dec 17, 2005, 11:26 PM Panzer Tank?! Gehts noch?
A tank is the cheap and ugly Sherman(watch the 'movie' The Tank), but a Panzer is a Tiger 1+2, Leopard 1+2 or Jagd-Panther, engined with original Porsche-Triebwerken!
So, enjoy the Blitzkrieg-feeling, and produce a lot of heavy german tanks!
My new project is the original Battleship-Bismarck-skin of 1941.
"Über Bordlautsprecher hörten wir nur: Erste Salve war deckend, dann kam: Hood versenkt!"
In Honor of the might battleship named Bismarck I'll give you the origin stuff! :goodjob:
CellKu Dec 18, 2005, 05:09 AM The Bismarck... very nice! So, we get a second uu for the Germans? ;)
Tommy1234567890 Dec 18, 2005, 01:52 PM @ wow mirtan back off! it was just a question!
and were does the sound file go???
mirtan Dec 18, 2005, 04:13 PM Put the files in the ...\assets\sounds\units folder.
I like the creaking chains!
DMW Dec 18, 2005, 04:46 PM Where does the graphics file go?
I found the place to put the sounds into but not the graphics....
mirtan Dec 19, 2005, 09:45 AM unzip into the ...\assets\art\units folder.
is the units-folder not there, create him
a alternative is to put them into: documents and configs/my games/civ4/custom-assets/art/units/
Darth_Pugwash Dec 22, 2005, 07:40 AM That looks more like a Panther than a King Tiger.;) Looks good though!
civaddict098 Dec 28, 2005, 11:52 AM nice looks WAY better than original
pastyboyz Dec 31, 2005, 12:51 PM Great Panzer pics and sounds. Thanks alot, you would think Fireaxis get this by now after 4 tries.
My only sugguestion is the sounds should have more squeaks mixed in. Historical fact: the Allies bombed out most of the ball bearing factories, so german tanks made more noise then others due to scarse ball bearings.
Master Lexx Jan 05, 2006, 08:23 PM Thanks, I already included this in GreenMod. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=144428
The 88 on the original was really silly.
von_Seydlitz Jan 10, 2006, 05:15 PM Looks really great...
Sieht spitze aus, Kollege. :)
Martock Jan 10, 2006, 06:37 PM Sadly this is the one skin I can't seem to get to work. Regardless of where I put it (...\assets\art\units folder or documents and configs/my games/civ4/custom-assets/art/units/) it still defaults to the original Firixis version.

UUs are different. It goes in:
CustomAssets/Art/Units/Unique/German/Panzer

Thanks!! I'll give that a whirl tonight!
von_Seydlitz Jan 14, 2006, 10:25 AM Panzer Tank?! Gehts noch?

Balphasar Aug 07, 2006, 04:49 PM Schweeettt Stuff... I'm lovin' it! Thanks Tonnes
Red Door Aug 07, 2006, 04:50 PM Please don't bump old threads.
Los Tirano Aug 12, 2006, 06:21 AM Good, the fact that it looks slightly dirty makes it seem more realistic.
