What is, for Your Personal Opinion, the best type of Great Person?

For me, it is the Great Artist.:goodjob:

Great scientist for Academy. Second is engineer and the rest tie for third.

Great Scientist is obviously the best, followed closely by Great Engineer.

Prophets are great early in the game, both for building a Shrine and as super-citizens. Merchants are always good for their commerce bonus and Artists are great during wartime to shore up conquered territory.

I don't think I've ever kept two around for a Golden Age - they're just too useful on their own to sacrifice for it.

A prophet and a shrine is a good way of keeping your sci slider at 100% for the whole game. I think it helps research even more than a scientist.

After the shrine, scientists are my favourite for Academies. I usually prefer the free tech over specialists, but if I have good sci multiplyer, I make them too.

Great Artist if you play for a cultural victory.

The greatest is usually the first
Prophet --> shrine
Engineer --> parthenon or great Lybrary

Sometimes I use five GP for two golden ages, it depends from the strategy as LeSphinx said above.

Well, for the first one, a Great Prophet is probably the best. After that, a Great Engineer or Great Scientist depending on whether you have an important wonder to finish.

Bear in mind that additional Prophets and Great Scientists decrease dramatically in value, as you only need around 3 academies and as many prophets as you have holy citeies. Engineers keep their value throught the entire game so:

Engineer > Scientist = Prophet > Mechant = Artist

Best is engineer for rushing wonders. Worst is artist. Need one or two scientists and one prophet for every religion you founded.

Agreed. Like getting a Great Prophet when you have no shrines to build or in the later eras is a big disappointment.

I like Great Engineers best though, because they're always useful no matter what style you play or what era you're in.

I like getting a few great engineers , and then saving them for some of the later wonders, like the UN, Pentagon, or Space Elevator. :hammer:
