Exact Calculation of Military Upkeep?

1) Roughly, how much units can 1g per turn support?

2) What's inflation?

3) And Out of Borders Fee?

4) Are workers, settlers, Great People, missionaries involve in the upkeep?

Out of all of those, all I know is that missionaries are 2g per turn, per missionary, with a max of 3 per civ.

Great People cost 2 gold per turn to upkeep until you use them. Beyond that, I'm also a bit confused by the exact calculations on military upkeep. I've deleted one unit and regained 3 gold/turn, but I've also deleted many and regained only 1.

There is a supply factor. If the unit is outside your cultural borders, it also costs your civ money for "supply". So deleting a guy outside your borders could save more money than some ancient warrior sitting in your capital. Not sure how units in civs with whom you have open borders are counted.
