UPDATE:
I found a great site to see the timezones so we can "optimize" the speed of the first turns in the game. It is http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

Also, i should be on mostly around 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, more if i have the energy. My timezone, as i found out is Eastern Standard Time.

And, we should post up our time zones and stuff on the next time we post our turns. I'll try to post them up here as i recieve them.

Hello. I'm new to civfanatics and new to civ 4, but i have played civ 2 and civ 3.

update
*all slots are filled in. will not accept anymore entries that come after Corossol's*

update - almost forgot. Please post everytime you finish your turn and send it to the next guy!

Anyway... this is my first PBEM game and was wondering if i could get 4 more people to play on a small or standard map. Preferrably Hub map, without barbarians. The first four people to volunteer can play, i guess. Just give me your emails and i will post them. Keep in mind that i kinda stink at Civ4 right now, so we might only play at Cheiftan. Post any questions you might have, as well as advice for a newb like me. I will do my best to check by frequently, and also do my best to take my turn as soon as i check my e-mail. I will be gone for a while later today, but will be back.

update

Just to let you know, i'm running the patched version of civ 4 (version 1.09). So i am assuming (even though i have not played any multiplayer games other than hotseat) that other people who play the game all have to have the same version. I don't have the "unofficial memory fix" patch, though. I hope that won't interfere with the gameplay.

update

i'll add my e-mail address:
juggalodrake@yahoo.com

update (final)

here's a list of the players so far and the civs that they have either decided on or might pick. Remember, it's "first pick, first serve":

1st turn: JugglingNinja - Kublai Khan (Mongolian) juggalodrake@yahoo.com
2nd turn: ilcavero - Qin Shi Huang (Chinese) ilcavero@cantv.net
3rd turn: Aldor - Hatshepsut (Egyptian) yggramon@gmx.de
4th turn: Cloudraine - Saladin (Arabian) shawn.kwa@gmail.com

5th turn: Corossol - Catherine (Russia) corossol.civ@gmail.com

Update:
Time Zones

Corossol GMT 5 (usually plays between 23.00 GMT and 04.00 GMT)
Juggling Ninja GMT -5 (usually plays between 9:00 pm and 2:00 am EST)
Aldor GMT +1 (usually plays between 6-7 pm CET but is flexible)
ilcavero GMT GMT -4 (very flexible)
cloudraine GMT + 8 (usually plays between 1200 and 1600 GMT but is flexible during this holiday)

ilcavero, okay, you can have the Chinese Empire. Now we just need three more...

Also, i forgot to mention. I will probably either pick Saladin or Kublai Khan (i heard that those two are the easiest to play with). So one of those, plus your pick, are now taken.

I'd love to join in, have never played MP either. I've played warlord level so far, as thats what I'm feeling most comfortable with. Will send you a PM with email.

I'll make it a Hub map... small. The only option selected will be no barbarians. I'll need you all to send a saved game email atleast once a day or once every two days (preferably as often as possible). The turn oder will be the order that you volunteered. I'll post your civs before starting the game, ofcourse.

I hope you have fun, I cant wait for firaxis to fix the bugs in the internet multiplayer format - there are always shortcomings with the synchronicity process

I cant wait till they fix the bugs, too! The big thing, though, is that civ4 barely even runs my computer. I frantically went throuh the setup, hoping that it would not crash before i finished the options. Lucky for me, it went smoothly.
When i get a new graphics card (or whatever you call it) i shouldn't have to worry about stuff like that anymore.

Corossol's email was wrongfully setted as Aldor's. I noticed just when I emailed the save file from the game and then went to check it out and sent it again by mistake :mischief: .
I emailed Corossol explaining the situation and then fixed Aldor's email and sent the saved game to him.

My bad... I went through the setup very quickly and must've switched those emails by accident. Sorry about that guys. Thanks for fixing the problem, ilcavero.

sent to aldor. ;) I'm fast

Did you get my email replying to speeding up the game? My yahoo account messed up (AGAIN!) so i think i only got to send it to you. I'll pm everyone about the speeding-up subject. I think i can fix my email problem before my turn comes up, so don't worry. If worst comes to worst, i'll just create a new email.
