Adds the FX-Mammoth map size option. Replaces the original Game Speeds with custom game speeds which are all longer than Epic. Adjusts the camera behavior. Adds persistient time and turn number displays. Adds 20 new Unique names for each category of Great Person.

Finally posted the first new Civ4 files announcement! Sorry for the delay!

The large number of Civ4 files certainly created a dilemma. I didn't just want to include only the files mentioned here, so I browse the files forums and included some other files not announced here. 36 files are included this time...

Keep up the good work everyone! :thumbsup:

PS: I will try to post annoucement on a weekly basis. In the future I may not go around looking for files to include, so it's a good idea to announce new files here. But please only announce here if it's a sigificant release...

Since the PitBoss email notification doesn't work right now, I thought I'd write up a quick app that fires off an email when a PitBoss turn happens. This way people know exactly when it's time to get on to the PitBoss server and play their next turn.

This is for PitBoss server admins who want their players to know when a turn is ready for them. Without this there is no real way to know it's time to play your turn without logging into Civ4 or asking the PitBoss admin.

It seems that there came an updated file of the original with the 1.52 patch, if this is not the case, please consider this post as "spam", because it wouldn´t be anything else!

this is very important to me, because i didn´t do anything else than just some stupid and easy copy-paste thing on the files!

@ Anybody who doesn´t have this mod already:
Try it out!! it´s one of the best i´ve seen - even if it "only" changes the appearance of the game

But: you´ll have to overwrite some original files, because the file doesn´t go into the custom assets folder!

The GP trickle mod randomly determines the primary trait for leaders in the

- Fixed the issue reported by DanoDavid, the placement code is broken when the
barbarian hires a mercenary. To fix this barbarians can no longer hire
mercenaries.

- Added fix to the INI parser code provided by Dr. Elmer Jiggle

- Changed the code to bind the 'M' key as a shortcut to the 'Mercenary Manager'
screen to 'Alt-M'

- Fixed the issue reported by DanoDavid. Mercenaries were not being correctly
removed when they were lost or killed.

- Fixed the bug reported by Darkhour. Units contracted out with extra
experience would loose that experience when hired and placed in the game.

- Added mercenary placement information in the "Mercenary Information" panel
so it matches the information displayed in the "Unit Information" panel,
requested by Darkhour.

- Updated getHireCost code so there are no more 0 hire cost mercenaries.

games? This mod will take care of that problem by using the updated version of the Random Unit Names and automatically renaming a great person when they are born if they don't have a unique name. There is a configurable option that allows for the names to be civilization specific or random.

What's new in this version?
This mod adds sniper functionality generically to the game. To enable a unit to
have the sniper features their combat type must be set to UNITCOMBAT_SNIPER.
Two new units have been included with this mod component to demonstrate this
functionality: sniper and modern sniper. The sniper represents the sniper from
the ~1750s to the end of the 1800s or from the American revolution through the
American civil war. The modern sniper represents roughly what modern combat
snipers are today.

- Implemented the code to actually give a city founded on top of city ruins a
certain amount culture either from the previous civilization that owned the
city or culture from the player that founded the city.

on city ruins should not be given part of the culture from the city that
created the city ruins.

- Added the configurable option allowing players to specify if the culture
given by city ruins should be the same as the player who founded the city.
If set to true then the culture given to the new city will be from the
civilization that last owned the city that created the city ruins.

- Added the configurable option allowing players to specify the number of
years that city ruins give culture.

culture in percent city ruins give.

- Added the configurable option allowing players to specify if the founder of a
conquered city should not be allowed to be reassigned if the conqueror is not
the original founder and the losing civilization is also not the original
founder and the city's culture is at least double what it was when the
founder lost it.

- Added the configurable option allowing players to specify if culture should
be maintained after a city is captured by a civilization from another
civilization.

- Added the configurable option allowing players to specify the max amount of
culture in percent retained after a city is conquered.

- Change the code that retains culture after a city is conquered to use
setCulture instead of changeCulture. Using changeCulture gave too much culture
to the civilization that conquered the city.

What's new in this version?
This mod changes the starting technologies of all civilizations depending on
their starting location and the immediate surrounding location. For instance
if the starting plot for a civilization is immediately next to coastal and
grassland plot, plus near ocean plots and maybe some plains then their starting
technologies could be fishing and hunting. Four vectors are used to calculate
the starting technologies:
- Plot Types
- Terrain Types
- Feature Types
- Bonus Types
Each vector has a configurable weight value as well.

This mod basically enables animals to be automatically spawned in oceans if
they have their feature or terrain native values set correctly. So for instance
if a water animal should trawl through ocean and water plots then the terrain
native should be set in the unit definition like this:

oceans. When examining the SDK code it turns out that the feature way already
available but was not taken advantage of since Pirates were never able to
build any of the seafaring units.

Immigration has always been a part of the history of the world and now it can
be part of the history of your game. There are several conditions that can
cause a city to spawn immigrants war, sickness, unhappiness, lack of food, etc.
All of these can cause a group of immigrants to leave from one of your cities

What's new in this version?
The great options mod is just that, a mod that provides players the flexibility
to configure and tune as many options as they want. So for instance if they
want to use the enhanced foreign advisor one game but decide that they prefer
the original foreign advisor all they need to do is open the "Great Options Mod
Config.ini" file and change the Foreign Advisor Type to its default value. Its
just that easy. All thes configuration INI files from mod components that have
been kept separate to allow players to quickly find the configurable options
they want to fine tune.

The core edition of the Great Options Mod combines most of my (TheLopez) mods
together into one mod, plus a select few other mods to demonstrait the usage of
the features this mod introduces. I hope who ever decides to use or play this
mod enjoys it.
