umm, this may be a stupid question but what is PBEM? and what does it stand for?

I'm new to PBEM, too. So, to help out someone like me... PBEM, i believe stands for Play By E-Mail.

AHh of course. I'd like to play by email because i dont have alot of time to play multiplayer. But I imagine it would take a very long time.

What are some peoples experince?

Well, I just got civ4 and can beat it on warlord (but I usually play cheiftain).
I've never played against a human player (except on hotseat, but we were on a team) until i started a PBEM game yesterday, but if you would like to set up a pbem game, i'd be glad to join that one, too.

I concur. I believe PBeM is thus far the multiplayer mode best suited for my needs, as I lack the time to play for hours on end; and I believe I live on the other side of the world, relative to the majority of people here.
