(note I will do it in story mode ;) )(Pagnea 80% water, huge, 4 civs:eek: , 5 billion, temperate, and the other middle one, cheiftan, sedentary barbs) well ill come back someday later because i got to go now but for next time may the teeth of the jaguar sink into my first victim!:king: :ar15: :sniper: :satan:
conquer_dude Dec 22, 2005, 10:37 PM Yay! New story. Sounds great. haha 4 civs on a huge map
stocktracker Dec 23, 2005, 08:08 AM Have fun dealing with the corruption in this game. I have played something like this, I secured 60% of the world's land by the modern age without any wars. Of course, about 3/4 of my income was being eaten away by corruption.
That does makes the game a challenge, so good luck!
mythmonster2 Dec 24, 2005, 11:44 AM It was a great year indeed the year of 4000 B.C for this was the year that civilization came into existence. However this is of the rise of the Mayan civilization. For hundreds of years the Mayans were just another group of nomads but then all of that changed. As soon as they were ready to settle down they elected a young, energetic man known as Smoke-Jaguar as their leader becaus he had many ideas, some of which included wiping out all the other people on the Earth. Below is a copy of an inscription describing the founding of Chicken-Itza
In his hand Smoke-Jaguar held a stone which was the first stone used to build the grand city of Chicken-Itza and he yelled out, "From this block will come the capital of the only civilized people in the world, fighting off many barbarians! We have a duty and we must accomplish it!
When the city was built the people realized that they were surrounded by cows and wheat as this sketch shows. Courtesy of the Library of Copan

The first thing that the emporer was asked for was the choice of technology that they would research. He got to thinking and eventually said that a code for warriors should be reaserched. Next hew ordered the city's governer to make two warrior regiments- one for exploration and the other for defense. When the first regiment was finished they started towards a small village to the northwest.
When the men stumbled upon the village the people gave them 25 gold pieces to aid the emporers treasury. Not much happened for the next few years except for the completion of the second warrior brigade who could defend fiecely against any attack. When the new warriors were finished the king ordered 10,000 people to go out and expand the glory of the empire.
When the people were ready to leave the emporer then commanded that a housing for soldiers should be built in the city.(barracks)Not too long after that the exploring warriors came across a village owned by an advanced people called the Illinois who told them how to build temples to the gods.At the same time the borders of the capital city expanded.

Then not too long after that the settlers found a suitable site for a new city to be built and the laid down the foundations for a brand new city which would be called Copan

mythmonster2 Dec 26, 2005, 01:52 PM oh sorry! My post somehow got cut off halfway through so I will now update it in an edit. Again sorry
edit: Done
Smart Dec 26, 2005, 02:29 PM Nice...
Chieftain, 5 cows and 3 wheats... Did you have created this map in editor?
mythmonster2 Dec 27, 2005, 01:05 PM No! Whenever I make a map in the editor i get so bored that I forget to put bonus and luxury resources!
Own Dec 28, 2005, 08:49 PM That's some start. On cheiftan, AW tends to be more of a strategy than a variant. Good luck!
mythmonster2 Jan 02, 2006, 12:48 PM I'm back! On with the show!
Once the great city of Copan was built the barracks in Chicken Itza was finally finished and a new band of 400 warriors were being assembled in Chicken Itza. Not too long after that the exploring band of warriors found a lake in which there were animals called fishes which could be cooked for food.
Not much happened for the next few years except for the finishing of the new 400 warrior brigade being finished. Then the great ruler Smoke-Jaguar ordered 3 great triangular stones to be raised in the great city of Chicken Itza. In the same year Copan also became defended and now a temple was to be built in the city. Then the exploring warriors found a small village that taught them something very important.

A young man ran down the hallways to the ruler's throne room and unveiled a metal, stronger than stone."What is it?" demanded the king.
"Your majesty,"the young man shakingly said,"it is a new metal called bronze. It is harder than stone and can be put on top of spear as a point or you could smelt it into a sheild or perhaps even build great statues with them!"
"Excellent! You may go now" said the king.
After the discovery of bronze the code of warriors was also complete and now they were starting to learn how to make an object called a wheel which could roll around. Later the workers finally completed a road connecting the two cities of the Mayan empire.
The following years were uneventful except for something bad in the city of Chicken Itza. There was a riot in the grand city by people who were unhappy purely because they thought the city was too crowded. However this riot was quickly destroyd and everything went on as normally would. Also the temple in Copan was finished and a new 10,000 people would leave yet again to found a city.
Finally when the settlers finally left a brigade of warriors who threw javelins were going to be trained in Copan. The the scientists finally put the finishing touches on the wheel(Note: No horses!:( ) and started making an alphabet by which they could communicate with. Once the javelin throwers were assembled a barracks was to be started in Copan.
In another year the new city of Palanque was finally founded

Finishing touches on... a wheel? What kind of scientist doesn't know what a circle is?
stocktracker Jan 02, 2006, 04:49 PM With 4 civs on a huge map, you don't need to worry about military for a long time.
You need to be focused on expansion.
mythmonster2 Jan 05, 2006, 06:10 PM You know I JUST realized that on my first and second pictures it seems that I am only one turn away from the ocean!
