View Full Version : Everquest Map
EQandcivfanatic Jan 23, 2002, 07:51 PM This is my first attempt to make a EQ map. I have not changed the rules in any way.
In this map trade will be very important. There is no Uranium and horses can only be found on the main continent. Saltpeter can only be found in snow-capped mountains on a ice continent and on a mountain range on another continent.
Suggestions on how to make my map more realistic would be nice. Also, can someone tell me how to make and post a screenshot?
The EQ scenario has been completed check it out!
kittenOFchaos Jan 24, 2002, 02:59 AM Hmm...one day an Everquest scenario may be possible, could be interesting!
To make a screenshot:
Press your print screen button (one to the right of F12) and then press ALT TAB to get to desktop. Go to PAINT -or any equivalent arts program- (to get to PAINT got to START - PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - PAINT) and then select PASTE from the EDIT menu. Then save your picture as a JPEG.
To POST it here...merely attach the picture to your post using the attachment button -it must be a new post. The attach button is just below where you write in a post.
THE RESULT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7083
The program I used for that screenshot can be downloaded from this page...it is simple to use and free...

Hope this helps!
EQandcivfanatic Jan 24, 2002, 02:08 PM I think i will try that once i have some time. Meanwhile, I am working solely on a map for the N64 game Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
datarush Jan 24, 2002, 02:17 PM The only way I know of to get a picture of an entire Civ3 map is to start the game and load the scenario. Once you begin playing, retire. You'll go through the end of game stuff during which a map of the entire world is shown. Prior to that, you would have had your screen capture program started and ready to capture. Capture the map/screen and you got it! Really the Civ 3 editor software ought to have a way to view an entire map, for chrissakes!
Odin442 Jan 30, 2002, 11:36 AM An Everquest Scenario has potential. I'll get right on it... unless someone else wants to get a crack at it first?
wesrg Feb 20, 2002, 12:09 PM Wow other people out there that play EQ and Civ. Two most addictive games ever IMO. I would love for someone to try and EQ scenario, would be a blast!
Ethics Mar 01, 2002, 06:43 PM Hmm, do try to keep it true to the EQ quests where the GMs go around killing everyone =P
I'd suggest the "Uber" guilds of the different servers compete for l33t drop items for sell on ebay.
EQandcivfanatic May 11, 2002, 12:02 PM I am working on improvements for this map, i would make it include Luclin but i have no idea what Luclin is like. This edited map will take into account Lavastorm and a couple of other zones i missed like Lake Rathe and the Rathe mountains. Fortifications will be added to represent dungeons like Blackburrow and Befallen. As soon as Play the World comes out though i will make a true secnario for Everquest.
EQandcivfanatic Jul 19, 2002, 01:36 PM A true EQ scenario is on its way! The situation:
war has broken out in between the Human Alliance, The Dark Elf Empire, The Alliance of Faydwer, and the Iskar Empire. Only 1 nation will come out of this conflict alive. Who will you choose?
This is not based on a real EQ situation. It will have an entirely remade map with more than 1 city for all sides (thank god for the minimap).
Every nation will have different styles of armies than the rest of the nations.
Here's a sample of each nations UU:
Human Alliance: Rogue, a guerilla unit with high attack and low defence
The darkelf Empire: Enslaved Ogre/Troll, a normal looking swordsman but with very high attack, defence, and value.
The Alliance of faydwer: Gnomish Cannon, a much better bombard unit than most nations' catapults
The Iskar Empire: Iskar Warrior, a high defence, medium attack, low price warrior.
I am open to suggestions on unit grafics. Also will someone please tell me how i can select two different city improvements if they are not right next to eachother on the city property screen?
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 07:49 AM Here's the readme to the finished scenario. Addon ideas will be appreciated. The scenario itself will be here in a few hours as soon as the computer with the map is back online.
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 08:27 AM Here's a screen shot of my Human forces attacking Neriak.
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 08:31 AM oops i'll try that again.
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 08:35 AM There seems to be something wrong with my comp i try later
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 11:55 AM Here is the scenario itself. Enjoy! This is the first version of this map. As i receive more suggestions and reports of bugs in the map I will make new versions.
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 12:24 PM Here's the first set of Units.
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 12:33 PM The rest of the units are coming late, do not try to play this till they are all up for dling.
EQandcivfanatic Jul 20, 2002, 12:40 PM The Units will now be posted in the the new completed scenario section.
