To the candidates, why do should you be elected to this posistion? what makes you the 'best' at this job? and what shall your first act as minister of interior be should you get the job and the game start playing?

Well, initially I can tell that as the military minister in a previous demogame (Civ3 DG5), I managed to present quotas of troop compositition and upkeep economics to the slightest detail, and yet manage to handle the odd an gamey challenges posed by some of the citizens, challenges outside the scope of the victory conditions and more in the realm of tender political correctness, generic nitpicking as well as some obscure roleplay parameters.

Having played through Civ4 several times, I am now paying particular attention to the timely development of land tiles, application of workers pertaining to given civics and finally how to develop a strong military base with a minimum of upkeep costs. This means I will specialize the formations according to

Being fair, I will present 3-4 military development packages and 2-3 land development plans, for the people to choose from.

I feel I would best fit the role for ministry of the interior because my chief aims are just that; managing the interior. My playing style is very economic/scientific.

My fellow candidate, whom is likely a very respectable player, boasts of military accomplishment and plans for military develoment packages. I ask, Is that not the job of the Secretary of War? It is my personal opinion that the role of Minister of the Interior is that of leadership through service.

My primary goal as Minister of the Interior would be to ensure other offices and the government as a whole can accomplish their goals. To achieve this my primary focus is, of course, the economy and ensuring it is strong and healthy. In my personal life I am studying Commerce and planing on being a Broker so the economy and the flow of money is a strong background for me.
Civ IV offers its own unique challenges I have planned to tackle well before these elections have taken place.

As some of you may have noticed I have devised an "Economic Advisory Board" so that the Minister of the Interior acts not on his own but in partnership with members of the cabinet and governors.

I feel that the economy isn't the sole concern of one single person because the state of the economy effects all other offices. Therefore the Economic Advisory Board lends an ear to these people and offers them a voice in the direction of the economy.

I'm sorry this post is so adrupt and brief. I've been extremely busy at work lately. Not to fear though, as of Dec 30 I shall be a free man from the Christmas season!

If anyone else has any concerns or questions or wishes to put me in the hotseat please feel free to do so! That's what Democracy boils down to eh? :D

On the part of the economy, I take that area as the most given of all the duties, hence the particular emphasis on the military force composition in the first post. I also thank the other candidate for the kind words and wish to reciprocate these by saying that he seems quite respectable.

For the economics, I intend to find the most timely way to develop our land tile by tile, and in particular steward the forest resources in the most expeditent, effective and practical way. I will seek to economize

Having an extended education and experience in economics and military matters, I feel confident that I can transfer some of the presentation techniques to Civ4 as well. However, the Minister of the Interior does not cover economics as such, that is covered by the President of the nation, who is in charge of budgeting and the slider.

This brings us to land development, city specialization and development of our armed forces by the unit. This is not a Minister of War duty, but a duty for the Minister of the Interior. The Minister of War is of course free to utilize the force composition prepared by the Minister of the Interior, per given mandates described in the functions.

Question for the candidates:

If our starting location is equidistant from a food source (e.g. wheat), and a strategic resource (e.g. stone), which do you develop first and why?
