If so, who and how?
|
View Full Version : Anyone ever changed the Space Race Victory Video? Rambuchan Dec 26, 2005, 11:28 AM If so, who and how? BadKharma Dec 26, 2005, 12:32 PM I'm not sure if anyone has but it would involve creating a new bic movie. You can download the Rad Tools (http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm) for free to view and make your own videos. Rambuchan Dec 26, 2005, 12:36 PM Thanks BadKarma! DLing it now. I suppose, to save going out and shooting your own historical documentary clip or paying for archive footage, you could just put together a kind of slide show of stills in this programme? And can you add music to it also? BadKharma Dec 26, 2005, 12:44 PM Yes you can import any type of file then convert it to a bic movie and also mix in sound. For the easiest way I would start with an animated gif. Plotinus Dec 26, 2005, 12:46 PM This would be very interesting to see. I don't think I've seen videos being modded before. Might bump up the filesize, though! Rambuchan Dec 26, 2005, 12:51 PM Plot: Yes, it would bump up the file size for sure. Hence my thinking of a sequence of stills. It's just slightly less demanding I think. Anyway, this is with a view to making it an optional DL. Much like music in your scens. Badkarma: I shall look into it but don't be surprised if I get my knickers in a twist and come begging for help at some point. I may have worked in the motion picture industry but that was as a non-techie type that 'hired the experts in'. EDIT: Looks like a great programme this! Hikaro Takayama Dec 26, 2005, 12:54 PM Plontius: I'm planning on using a Final Fantasy Anime Music Video that I saw once that one of my friends had as the intro movie for the FF mod.... If I can figure out where to find the darned movie. I already have the Rad tools as well as a Music/Video mixing program called Screenblast ACID, so I might just have to end up making my own... BadKharma Dec 26, 2005, 01:07 PM It actually wont increase the file size that significantly bink videos are highly compressed. If you make a new image in Photoshop you can add other new images on layers above the first then export the file to image ready to animate and save as a .gif. You will now have an animated gif you can then convert and compress as a bink video :) If you have 3D programs you can use that alternatively to make an animated gif then import the animated gif into image ready save as a psd and then do touch up add effects etc in photoshop. Quinzy Dec 26, 2005, 01:18 PM where are the video files lurking? BadKharma Dec 26, 2005, 01:34 PM Program Files\Atari\Civilization III Complete\Art\Movies As you can see I have Civ 3 complete just change the stucture if you dont have the complete version but it should be in a folder named movies inside art...........so for a mod make an extra movie folder inside the art folder and voila! R8XFT Dec 26, 2005, 03:24 PM I changed this movie in Anno Domini. Instead of having an actual movie, I had a screenshot of Cleopatra in her treasury room that ran for about 25 seconds. (It had been changed from a space race victory to a trade victory.) Bluemofia Dec 26, 2005, 03:26 PM For mine, it's most likely going to be some sort of graduation video. The Omega Dec 26, 2005, 03:28 PM For mine, it's most likely going to be some sort of graduation video. Though we don't knwo where we're gonna get a graduation video.... Bluemofia Dec 26, 2005, 03:35 PM I've got something like 3 pictures from my middle school graduation... Or we can just do what R8FXT did, and do a picture of the graduation hat thingy for about 10 seconds, along with graduation music. Rambuchan Dec 26, 2005, 03:37 PM R8XFT: What file type was / is that screenshot and did you need to use any particular programme? EDIT: I too am doing this with a view to animating or at least changing the way the Mughals scenario's 'Trade Mastery Victory' is depicted. It just seems wrong to have a spaceship taking off once a player has established their monopoly over Opium, Cotton, Silks and Gems in 18th century India. If I can get it to work, I intend to put together something very humourous involving a Coronation ('The Jewel in the Crown' is the only SS Part) and put it with some funked up, 60s, sitar funk. The Omega Dec 26, 2005, 03:40 PM I've got something like 3 pictures from my middle school graduation... Or we can just do what R8FXT did, and do a picture of the graduation hat thingy for about 10 seconds, along with graduation music. You actually have graduation things? We just got a half day where we were given our year books, and after they had all been signed and whatnot, they gave out awards for grades, then just sent us home. Yeah, that would be easier.... Bluemofia Dec 26, 2005, 03:46 PM You actually have graduation things? We just got a half day where we were given our year books, and after they had all been signed and whatnot, they gave out awards for grades, then just sent us home. Yeah, that would be easier.... Yep. We went to this one huge building, where they made us walk up to the podium thingy after a ceremony and then go and recieve our award. (which was blank, and pretty much for show. We got teh actual thing later.) Then we leave. The Omega Dec 26, 2005, 03:56 PM Yep. We went to this one huge building, where they made us walk up to the podium thingy after a ceremony and then go and recieve our award. (which was blank, and pretty much for show. We got teh actual thing later.) Then we leave. But it's only middle school.... That's like how they make a big deal about Kindergarten graduation.... Bluemofia Dec 26, 2005, 04:02 PM But it's only middle school.... That's like how they make a big deal about Kindergarten graduation.... I know. But that's what we did. It was an after school thing though, and we needed to buy these cheap graduation gowns for it. Rambuchan Dec 26, 2005, 04:14 PM Can a mod please rename this to the "Where I got my graduation gown from thread" please? Bluemofia Dec 26, 2005, 04:22 PM No. I'm done already. :p BadKharma Dec 26, 2005, 04:31 PM If you look at the space race video it is 640 x 360 pixels with 2,541 frames so if you plan to make a replacement movie I would use the same pixel size frames can be anything but remeber the less frames you have the shorter it will be. Rambuchan Dec 26, 2005, 04:32 PM Isn't it possible to alter the frame rate? Fewer frames running for longer each? Abaddon Dec 26, 2005, 05:24 PM talk about completion for a mod! BadKharma Dec 26, 2005, 06:46 PM Isn't it possible to alter the frame rate? Fewer frames running for longer each? Yes you can do that. Rambuchan Dec 26, 2005, 07:06 PM Nice! This is sounding much more promising! Thanks a lot badkarma! BadKharma Dec 26, 2005, 08:01 PM No problem its always nice to see people going the extra distance to make a mod better. Rambuchan Jan 27, 2006, 04:47 AM I know this is a gross bump and apologies for that. This is a call out for badkarma - where are you man!? I've sent PMs and emails and heard nothing. Please update me. Traianus Jan 27, 2006, 09:54 AM Pink altready tried this for RFRE. He substituted a video from an old game about Rome. You see it when you complete the Byzantine Empire wonder. BadKharma Jan 28, 2006, 10:10 AM Sorry I have been busy still working on it along with multiple other things. recon1591 Jan 28, 2006, 12:09 PM Guys, I have a Q about this.
