Just bringing this to everyone's attention in case they weren't familiar with the format we've used before. Since it works, I propose we just stick with the common naming system for uploaded files:

DG#_BC/AD####_text.extension

Ok, that's a bit confusing, so I'll give examples:

If we were doing a turnchat, we could save it at turn5 and name it:

DG1_BC1400_turn5.Civ4SavedGame

And a screenshot for it:

DG1_BC1400_turn5screen.JPG

If we uploaded a log from the turnchat up to 300 AD:

DG1_AD0300_log.txt

Notice the 0, that makes it easier when sorting the files in a directory.

Does this work for everyone? :)

Good idea, thanks for doing this. :)

Hmm, just in case there are DG1 files still out there, should the prefix maybe be Civ4DG#_blah?

Dave, I had thought of that, and the thing is, Civ4 save files have different extensions than Civ3 (.Civ4SavedGame not .SAV), which means you could theoretically have 2 files of the same name if differing extensions. Of course that means ZIPs and TXTs could possibly clash...

Using C4DG1_text or Civ4DG1_text is fine too. I guess we'll use what you suggested, the latter.

Ooooh that very much pleases my eye as a neurotic file organizer freak
