I was curious, is their a way to password your Civ for DirectIP games. I know you can do it for PBEM games but when I try to set a password for DirectIP games, their is not an option to do it because the Password box is greyed out. The reason I want to password them is cause I don't want others loading a game and checking my civ and others. If their isn't a way to password, is their any other way to prevent players from loading a save and checking? Thanks

Exactly, this really sucks. Just noticed it myself....seems you cant password protect. Guess you'll have to know someone you trust that wouldn't cheat.

It happens when you first open up your civ. You will be asked to enter a password and then re-enter it. Then every time you play your turn, you need to enter your password to get access.

This doesn't work for DirectIP games though. Their doesn't seem to be an option to set password at all. Try hosting a DirectIP game by yourself and you'll see what I mean.

Ahh I wasn't using Pitboss to play DirectIP games. I was specifically asking about DirectIP in the Civ4 Multiplayer game settings. Do you know of a way to set password there? I don't use Pitboss as it doesn't seem to let you random some settings which I like to do. Thanks
