There isn't a "disable" option for techs as such. You can set up your own mod with a fixed number of turns though. In the Scenario Properties you get to set up how many years per turn are recorded, and even the final number of turns total. Just have the initial year be 4000 BC, Ancient Era (or whatever) and the number of turns last only till the Middle Ages (or your choice).

Course, they'll still show up in the Civpedia, etc, unless you delete them too.

hey i think i found another way :)

in the technology tab, there is a thing 'not required for era advance' or something

i m just gonna do all technologies to not require for technology advance so they won't advance :D

Ah, that means that the technology in question is an optional one, and you don't have to research it in order to progress to the next era. For example, you can move to the Industrial era without researching Chivalry. So if you make every single tech not required for era advance, you'll advance through all the eras instantaneously (probably).

Now that I think about it, there might be a way. In the RulesEdit page--Civ Advances, you see the "Era" tab, and if you specify "none" it won't show up in any Sci Advisor screen. Still be in the civilopedia anyway.

Hm. But I'm guessing the game needs to have something in the "modern" screen, so that it'll have something to go to when you click on the "go to modern era" button in the Industrial Age, etc.

If you make all modern era techs "no era" I'd guess that when you go to the modern screen, you'd see nothing but a bunch of arrows...
