The Condor Dec 27, 2005, 12:37 AM :hmm: That's a hard one how about not going on "special" sites or popping up pop-ups or going on suspicious sites;). However to fix I think it is best left to some computer specialist who you can trust your computer with:). Abgar Dec 27, 2005, 12:45 AM I forget how, but I believe that there is a way to show hidden files so you can see the spyware file if you have one. You should get a computer specialist to help, and this belongs in Computer Help. Edit: If you go to Control Panel, click on tools, then select Folder Option, select View, go down to Hidden files and folders, and select show hidden files and folders. ainwood Dec 27, 2005, 12:56 AM Moved to computer talk. Have you updated the definitions for your anti-adware programs? FriendlyFire Dec 27, 2005, 05:12 AM Do a FULL scan instead of smart scan with Adaware normally dose the trick Speedo Dec 27, 2005, 08:01 AM If you don't have MS Antispyware, get it and do a full system scan. If you find a chunk of spyware this way, it's usually one where you'll need to reboot in Safe Mode and edit the registry to prevent the damn thing from re-installing itself. |
