G'day everyone
I bought Civ IV a week ago, and have been thoroughly enjoying the single player but I have two technical problems I would really like someone to help me fix if possible - I have checked several posts and tried all the solutions that appeared logical to me, so I thought I'd ask on what appears to be the biggest fansite to see if I can help. Anyway I'm wasting your time so I'll stop rabbling and get on to it.
1.) MP login: I click multiplayer, I click internet and I attempt to login into gamespy with my gamespy ID and all it simply says is "Username not valid". I've checked that my username is, indeed, valid and the password correct so I can't think what I can do to rememdy this. Simply getting an entirely new account seems a bit drastic... perhaps the game internally only allows certain usernames to be entered under a letter limit or something? I don't know any solutions would be helpful, or recommendations of perhaps another server browser to play Civ IV with - I never really liked Gamespy's one.
2.) Title/Wonder Graphics: I'm running a P4 2.8 GHZ Windows XP machine with 1 gb ram and Geforce 6800 GX yet I still can't get the graphics to work when the game loads and when things like wonders complete or movies play. For example when you start up the game before the menu comes up I can't see any of the movies or anything like that, and when other movies come up such as when a wonder is completed the video doesnt work. What happens is the screen or the portion of the screen where the video takes place becomes slightly tiled and pink and nothing happens under it until the video is over or I press escape.
Well these are my problems, and I have tried to solve them myself and look on the internet but nothing really seemed to work - sorry if they are noobish or I am stupid, and thanks in advance for your help! :)
