The first patch fixed the faces of the leaders and helped with the videos, but the terrain is still dark. Is there any reason to believe this will be fixed in the near future, or am I the only one still dealing with this issue?

I too am having the same problem.

I installed the game successfully but I am having difficulty viewing the game.
In particular, when I am playing the game, the terrain does not clear up from darkness when I explore the map. All that I can see are my units, villages, and animals. However, I loaded the American Revolution scenario and I am able to see all terrain features.

In addition, I noticed that in order to run the game, the computer requires that I use disc 1: the install disc, rather than disc 2: the play disc. When I put disc 2 in the computer to play the game, it tells me that there is an error, and that I must use the proper disc to play

Thus, I am wondering if there is something wrong with the game or if my system is not up to date. Is it there a problem with my video card? I looked at the game's requirements and I do have a NIVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X graphic card. I have 54.6GB of free space on my computer and I have Windows XP with 512 MB of Ram and a Pentium 4 CPU.

I, therefore, believe that I have all of the system requirements. As I result, I would like to know what is wrong. I have un-installed and re-installed the game twice, but to no avail. Would anyone please let me know what I might need to do to see the game?

Everyone has that problem. My game came with a little insert that said that there was a typo and that disc 1 is supposed to be used for playing.
