Hi, Civ4 newbie here, please be gentle. :crazyeye:

ISTR reading somewhere that you can move a Forbidden Palace from one city to another (assumedly by destroying the original or having it destroyed when you build the new one, since you can only have one at any time.) Like the Cluel3zz N3Wb I am, I built the F.P. only two cities away from my capitol...now my empire's expanded monstrousilously and the maintenance costs are getting HORRIBLE!! BUT...I can't figure out how to build a new F.P.! Can it be done?

For that matter, I forgot what city I put it in...lol it's out there somewhere! :scan:

Well, I don't know how to move the FP, but since it's so close to your capital, why not just move your palace instead?

If you want to find your FP, go to Options->Graphics and click the box that says "Detailed City Info". The city with the star next to its name is the one.

1. Give the FP city away to another civ.
2. Move the palace.
3. Build Versailles world wonder as another FP.

You can move your capital by building the Palace in a different city, but you cannot move the Forbidden Palace. That is a national wonder. The world wonder that has the same effect is the Versailles wonder.

3. Build Versailles world wonder as another FP.
I already built Versailles...in Versailles. :D

So once you built Wonders, you're stuck with 'em?

What about cities you build in the wrong place, or take over by mistake? (This game just screams for a Save Game Editor, lol...)

Guess it's no big deal to move the Palace instead...kinda sucks though because Paris is the Holy City for Hinduism AND Judaism & has about six dozen World Wonders! They're gonna be pissed that the capital city moved to Vichy w/o even the courtesy of a Nazi invasion.

Speaking of which...are there any penalties to moving your capital?

No penalty, the benefits just move to a different city.

Ok, kewl.

Are there any other Wonders/improvements down the road that reduce maintenance costs? (Aside from Courthouses, obviously.) Versailles, F. Palace & the new Vichy capital cover my empire pretty well at the moment, but there's a whole 'nother continent to explore... :sniper:
