Madame President,

During any protracted campaign, there's a reasonable chance that a soldier will distinguish themselves, drawing glory and honor upon their unit, and themself. Often, these great leaders can be used to construct powerful armies, or inspire our cities to rapidly complete a project.

While it may sound premature, I have an idea that I do not want missed. After conquering Rome, I sent a survey team, to scout the land for resources and opportunities. These scouts reported with much excitement that Rome has both Coal and Iron. Several construction firms have approached me with plans for a grand factory called Ironworks for Rome, that would push it's production to nearly unheard of levels.

Rome, however, is rebuilding from conquest, and will take a significant amount of time to construct such a project. Please consider using this leader to rapidly complete the Ironworks in Rome!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention Minister Ravensfire, it sounds like the best use of a Military Great Leader to me! It was an unexpected Christmas (OK, New Year really) present getting Coal as well as Iron in Rome!

I have started a thread in the citizen's forum.

Madame President,

Just stopping in to say hi and Congrats again.

I agree with your wanting to rush Culture in Rome. Also, I am wondering if you remembered we got Coal for Christmas last year (in Zojoji).
:D

Also, can we get a new map of the Continent? Mine appears to be outdated.

Hi and Thanks!

Yes, I remember the coal in Zojoji! I nearly mentioned it but got in a bit of a mess trying to post and it got missed out.

It's a bit late now, I'll try and do a new map tomorrow evening.

Madame President,

The Ministry of Defense would like to upgrade a few units this game session. Specifically, a Hoplite in Styx (90 gold) and a Musketman in Berlin (from Besancon, 30 gold)

Thanks!

Madame President,

I'm a little rusty on who does what, but looks like it's time to plan for where to put Theory of Evolution. I have taken the precaution of requesting a prebuild in Styx, so we don't miss any turns of production. I hope this won't be seen as overstepping the boundaries of the governorship, but our nation needs this wonder.

Regards, DaveShack
Governor of Styx

Thread started on Wonders, thanks DaveShack, but with a Palace lasting only 13 turns, we may have a problem with pre-builds.

Minister Ravensfire, thank you for your request, these upgrades will be given priority following a bit more culture in Rome. Unless the military situation makes them essential earlier.

I'd like to request 192 gold for a temple rush in Istakhr. I'd also like to note Istakhr will be a 2-turn worker factory (for the purpose of merging, although they can railroad first if there's work left to be done) starting 12 turns from now (we'd need 4 luxuries at that point, assuming the Persian citizens haven't assimilated, we're still at war with England and Persia, and we haven't gotten any war weariness). If we want to merge Roman workers, it wouldn't be as useful, but I think I would still go with it.

Thank you for pointing that out (it's why I try and post them early enough!), I'll correct it when I get back from work later today.

I would like to officially resign as governor of Priapos. A combination of increased schoolwork plus a loss of interest in the demogame caused me to neglect my duties over the past month, and I'd be doing this game a service by vacating the office and giving it to someone more active. I wish DG7 well, and I'll lurk here occasionally, but my action in an official capacity is effectively over.

Madame President,

During the next phase of the war with Persia, we're going to have a long logistics trail. This war will be difficult, and we will be sending new troops into the front, and pulling damaged units out of the front to rest and recover.

There is a fairly good-sized group of workers that has just finished creating the road for our Cannons to use. I'd like permission for them to accompany the military and create a railroad through Persia that we can use for our troops.

Thanks!

That's a very essential use for them, I'll authorise such use in my instructions, just please keep them protected if they can be reached by enemy troops and wherever possible use in stacks that finish in one turn.

I'd like to request a cathedral rush in Istakhr for 602g. This will keep it happy so the 2-turn worker factory will work (I'm assuming lux will be at 10% for two turns so Civantonia and Styx can build colosseums).

Madame President,

We're near a war with the French, one that will be a touch harder than the Persians due to their better defenders. Critical to beating them will be our Artillery Corps, who can reduce their units to a mere hollow shell.

My Artillery Generals recently discussed with me the state of their forces, pointing out that while most of their units wielded the new Artillery unit, some were still armed with the Cannons from the early Persian war! A total of 7 units are so equipped.

I'd like to see them modernized, with their old equipment replaced with the new, more powerful Artillerty units. Total, this would cost 420 gold (60 per unit). If you could, please release funds as you see fit to upgrade these units.

With thanks,
-- Ravensfire, Minister of Defense

Also, there are several older defensive troops that could use new equipment. We have an Musket unit (45 Gold) and a Rifleman unit (15 gold). We also still have 2 Hoplite (105 gold) that I do not wish upgraded at the moment. The cost is just too high for our current gold resources.

Apologies for the delay in posting a term 7 thread, I've only just managed to boot my PC up, and it's far too late here to do much now. I agree that we in particular need to upgrade our Artillery and will give them priority for the coming session.
