That looks like an awesome location for an OCC. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to rip it and play solo rather than join. Would have been better to step SW and build on the hill. Also, early contact with other civs would have done more than an early wiseman. Curraghs are awesome.

Good luck.

Monarch.... Maybe you will try 5CC or OCC at this start? AW is good too

Gosh, too late. I would've liked to say move 2E and build the 20K city SW from the starting tile, but hey, life is life. Founding on hill in RaR gives you an extra shield, which is really big. Will not join for the single reason that classes will begin again next week and I'll be in over my head if I did (else I'd be both in here and in SM2 ;)).

And also would have grabbed the mountain. I may take a turnset in this sometime when I'm less busy with SG's.

I just noticed "Open SG" ... was this open from scratch? I'll take a set when I get RaR working at my mom's :)

Pre-Turn: MM to get growth and settler to occur at the same time.

Tibet takes Boat Building +8g for Warfare and we start researching towards Caste System/Urbanisation: Pottery

Send a warrior ahead for the settler

T2.
Clan >> Granary (pre-build)

T3.
Pottery >> Cultivation

T4.
Found Sparta: TG and 0 growth.

In RaR, you cannot settle on jungle, settlers are "wheeled". However, jungle are 2-1-0 tiles (like plains) and founding on the hill just beside it is even better because of the 2-shields core.

T7.
Tibet beats us by a turn on Cultivation, so I buy it off them for 11g. Caste System started, 6turns.

Start exploring around, find rice.

T12.
Caste System >> Urb

Pottery for worker+13g from Tibet

T13.
Athens Granary >> Clan

T17.
Urbanisation >> Writing

Sparta Worker housing >> Scout

T19.
Athens Clan >> WH
Sparta WH >> Wiseman

Lhasa is size 2 with no growth, so we probably will have a dead-in-the-water AI in our hands :(

We might want to settle on the spot or 1S from where the settler is. I thought of putting a coastal city 2nd for the ATAR curraghs - Tibet is proving to be a poor research partner so far.

Terrain S is desert, N is marsh, NE is jungle :) We'll need to plan cities ahead and do it well ... remember that cities need aqueducts for growing to 8+, but a port is cheaper for greeks and does the same trick, so many coastal cities are in order.
