View Full Version : Randomizing Civ/Leader Names

I'd like to have the ability to be able to start a Mod game with all AI Civ's having random Civ and Leader Names. Now they could be random pregenerated names or not but the question is, Is this possible to do as a mod?

Edit: I thought the edit might aswell go in this thread aswell...

My idea is to randomize the startup of the Mod game to incorporate randomly named Civs and Leaders with random traits and starting techs so the replayability of the game increases and you never get the same game as such..

The question is we can change these values manually but (I suppose it will require some python coding which I know none of) to incorporate it randomly would be very cool.

So anyone else thats out there that can help.. Please feel free..

I think it should be.
Civilization names, leader names, unit names, and city names are all added on after the fact. I'll look into seeing what kinds of randomization these XML codes can incorporate.

Civilization traits would also be interesting to randomize but it may be difficult to keep a civilization from acquiring two of the save traits, i.e. (Phi/Phi).

Cheers thanks for that.. I suppose it doesn't have to be a bad thing. Just the randomness contributes to them having only 1 starting trait.
