View Full Version : New Civ - SG1 from "Stargate"
Dual Jan 03, 2006, 06:34 AM UPDATED: 4/15/06
I updated the XML to work right with the v1.61 patch.
This mod adds SG1 (from the sci-fi television show Stargate) to the game as a new civ.
Stargate Civilization 2.5 (http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads11/Stargate_2_5.zip)
--CHANGES FROM VERSION 2.0 (3/01/06)--
-Updated to work correctly with patch v1.61.
--CHANGES FROM VERSION 1.0 (1/03/06)--
-Added leaderheads for Sam, Daniel, and Teal'c.
-Added an UU for the civ, the SG Team (which replaces SAM Infantry).
-Improved the flag.
--What It Does--
When placed in the Mods folder these files will add SG1 (of Stargate) as a new Civ.
--How to Use--
To load the mod, first select the "Advanced" option on the main menu. Then choose "Load a Mod" on the new screen. Another screen should appear with a list of mods to choose from, including this one if you placed the Stargate folder into the Civ4 Mods folder.
See post #3 in this thread for some updated pictures from the mod.

Lord_Thor Jan 03, 2006, 04:33 PM hahaha.. nice job. As you can see from my name I'm a big fan of Stargate, in fact it's one of my favorite shows.
Punisher Jan 09, 2006, 07:15 PM is there any news from this mod ? improvement or others ?
is there a pack with [Sg-1, Sg-A leaders], [Wraiths, replicator, goa'uld ennemis] ?
I'm a fan too, so it will be very interesting for me :-p
maybe i can help for graphics
deo Jan 09, 2006, 07:28 PM  that's the best civ i saw.
Punisher Jan 09, 2006, 08:40 PM So here some arange dds pics.
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/joker.fun/civ/stargate.rar
New O'neill pics (and new flag)
Dr_Weir pics and flag
and if someone can add Dr_Weir for Atlantis civ caracteristics that would be great.
i think she's philosophic and industrious (maybe somethingelse for second caracteristic)
starting tech : agri and fishing
UU : Major John Sheppard :p (Marine) (+50% damage to normal gun units, +25% damage to airunit, +25% damage to armored unit.)
Cities for Atlantis...not a lot
Cities for SG-1 are great.
Maybe for the pics i add you can choose the best ones for both civ.
(before i see how to make litte animation - tell me which one you choose :-p)
Dual Jan 10, 2006, 12:46 AM Those new pics all look really nice, looking at them through my dds file converter. :goodjob: Especially that cool wormhole effect you did on some of the flags.
Shqype Jan 10, 2006, 12:53 AM I'm sure we all can agree that UU would be too powerful!
Punisher Jan 10, 2006, 05:34 AM well i think also this uu will be too powerful, its just a try... (hey only my 4-5th post lol)
but if some people wants to wokr on it, don't hesitate. I really want to make this civ.
And this night lol, i think of something, with weir. Her colons are moving one step more than normal ones or they are created more quickly.
For the cities for atlantis civ, maybe just take the name of planet they took teyla and ronan for the moment and the ones they found some ancient.
ColJackONeill44 Jan 31, 2006, 10:53 AM Dear All:
Good morning from Canada!!! I hope this finds you and yours well. As for me, I could complain...yadda, yadda, yadda.
I'm cheering this Stargate mod as loudly as I'm cheering the one for Canada!!!! :goodjob: Yet, we've a small problem with Jack as leader. I'm not saying that he shouldn't be leader, but what we need here is Daniel, or a "virtual Daniel."
You see, we all know that Jack has got all the tact of a dead skunk in the middle of the 401 (main highway in Ontario for those of you who don't know). Anyway, what is needed is a diplomat. Daniel has always been the heart, soul, voice and diplomacy for SG-1. I'm sure you'll agree with me when I say if you look up the word, "diplomat" in the dictionary, you won't see Jack's picture hanging beside it.
What I suggest is this: Is there anyway that we can get Daniel in there, even it's only to prevent Jack from opening his mouth and sticking his boot in it? God only knows he's done that enough times here on Earth.
Any comments on this, my fellow Stargate fans? The floor's open!!!
Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!
Sincerely yours always,
Indy.
John Capistran Feb 04, 2006, 02:39 PM Daniel Jackson is my favorite character... maybe if he becomes the leader figure person in this mod Jack can be the UU :P. Or Tiel'c or however you spell it :P
Dual Mar 01, 2006, 02:02 AM I've made a big update to the SG1 Civ, see the first post for details. :)
Taboga6 Mar 03, 2006, 12:36 PM I'm a huge Stargate fan so I think this mod is awesome. You've done a real good job. If I could offer some suggestions how about Gen. Hammond as a leader and maybe Bra'tac. Also what about a SG1 team replacing navy seals. The stargate could even be a wonder. Just some things I was thinking about. Keep up the good work.
Crighton Mar 03, 2006, 12:45 PM Stargate World Wonder:
+5 Offworld trade routes in city
+25% Sicence in City Built
Enables One Engineer and One Scientist Slot
Minor chance of Alien Invasion (meltdown + plauge)
Taboga6 Mar 03, 2006, 06:51 PM I like it. What about also a Jaffa unit. And perhaps an F-302. Also what about a system lord leader. You've done a real good job so far. I think you could keep going and make this a really cool mod.
Dual Mar 03, 2006, 09:54 PM Those are great ideas. But I'm not sure how much I want to do a fullblown Stargate mod myself; with wonders, more units, other civs, etc. As much as I like Stargate, there are other mod projects bouncing around in my head that I'd rather work on first.
If someone else wants to use this civ as part of a full mod or scenario, then they are more than welcome to. :)
Taboga6 Mar 03, 2006, 11:47 PM If you change your mind let me know. I probably won't be able to help with the technical stuff, but I can contribute with ideas
bob rulz Apr 05, 2006, 12:09 AM Yes! A Stargate mod! Sweet...
Dual Apr 15, 2006, 05:54 PM Now updated for the v1.61 patch. See the first post.
kik Apr 17, 2006, 07:18 AM Go Star Gate
ulsterman88 Apr 19, 2006, 04:03 PM i am massive fan of stargate and am very happy you created a stargate mod.
ulsterman88 Apr 19, 2006, 04:05 PM Have you used new units for barbarians, if not perhaps you could use the Unas as barbarians??
catwhowalksbyhi Apr 19, 2006, 05:06 PM It's not a mod. It's just a Civ. That means no barbarians or anything like that. You can play it in your regular Civ game or add it into another mod.
meatwad4289 May 13, 2006, 09:48 PM I've been thinking about it, and i think maybe after my next civ game I'd like to toy around furthering ur idea on the SG-1 Civ.
Ofcourse... I would ofcourse have the Jaffa, Ghouald, Orii, Ancients, Asgard, Nox, Tollan, ect. get atleast 12 to 16 civs. you know. I would need a few Jaffa animations or something. Give me ur ideas.
Taboga6 May 24, 2006, 09:50 PM I would love to see a full blown SG1 mod.
Altantis24 Jun 26, 2006, 10:33 PM I second that, Both shows SG1 and Atlantis
Celtic Warrior Feb 24, 2007, 11:53 AM How come this can't be found thru a search in the file DB ?
Aranor Feb 25, 2007, 06:35 AM How come this can't be found thru a search in the file DB ?
Probably because this mod was made well before the database was built and it hasn't been uploaded by the modder
netrom Mar 23, 2007, 05:46 AM Cant get it to work. Im a huge stargate fan and this would be amazing to use.
As soon as I select it in the mod screen and it restarts I get an error message and it shuts down.
I have downloaded the updates for the game, so I have the most recent patches.
marthinwurer Jul 11, 2008, 01:50 PM i like the idea of the sg1 civ. realy cool!
