Fine that will make a great Foe for the Briton Civ I just downloaded.

Cities:
Aachen
...
Rennes
TO BE CONTINUED...

Why Rennes ???

I'm OK about the other cities but I don't understand this one in the Franks List...

This was first a Gaulish, and then Gallo-Roman City, under the name of Condate. Then the city was aim (with Nantes) of several battles between the Franks and the Britons, therefore the city was held by the Frankish a little. But finally it was the Britons who won a Battle in 851 AD, and Rennes remained Briton until 1532 AD, when Brittany lost its independancy.

Also, the name of Rennes is quite recent, and was not used before the 14th century, therefore, this name is a kind of anachronism with the Franks.

In 1532 it was a long time that the Franks didn't exist anymore, because this people had merged with the remaining Gallo-Romans and several other people to become the French.

Here is an article about the history of the city :

This one is much more detailed, but you have to understand French :

Very good work as usual...

You what's funny, I just finished playing the part of the GameCube game "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requim" where you are a paige to Charlemange.

"Charlemange! No! I've failed you!"

One question though, why do you have the nouns as Babylonians, Franks and Etruscans, rather than Babylon, Holy Roman Empire and Etruria?

You don't find the Paladin a little too powerful?

i second that (by the way, nice work again civarmy)

moreover, i think a UU replacing maceman would be more accurate. with a bonus against longbowmen...

it was a rule that I choice when I started create to Civ3: when the "race" or "country" exist untill today I use the country name (Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Australia...), when the country doesn't exist anymore I use the noun (Carib, Franks, Haida, Polynesians...). BTW, I called my civ "Turks" and not "Turkey", cos it represents all Turks (Seljuqs, Kazhars, Ottomans...) and not only modern Turkey

Ah, ok. That makes sense.

Excellent !

Is there great leaders in this pack ? How about Pharamond , Clovis, Charles Martel, and Pepin the Short ?

Let us not forget Herstal (or Heristal) in the city list. It was the carolingian capital from Pepin of Herstal until Charlemagne. Even under Charlemagne it was where one of the main palaces and the main education centre were located.

Other cities : Paderborn, Fulda, Ingelheim, Worms, Strasbourg (well, Strateburgum), Metz, Verdun, Landen, Rheims, Laon, Noyon, Senlis, Paris, Orleans, Le Mans...

Make it the "Frankish" empire, not the "Frank" empire. And short description "Francia", "Frankia" or "Frankland", in order of which are used most.

Just so you know that BtS includes a "Holy Roman Empire" civilization that has a really nice Charlemagne leaderhead...
