(Multiple Choice voting is enabled this time.) :mischief:

Since Civilization IV was designed to be both single player and multiplayer right out of the box, there's map types for both available in the game. Of course some of the ones intended for MP don't really lend themselves to traditional single-player campaigns, and probably shouldn't be included as possibilities for the permanent Hall of Fame.

The question is, which ones?

If you're not familiar with all the types, you should check out Sirian's Map Scripts Guide (http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/reference/map_scripts_guide.php)

I voted for all common ones. I disliked it a bit to have to go with Team Battlegrounds in second Gauntlet just to be competitive. I fear those kind of extreme maps if allowed will be often a good choice but less fun to play.

The featured only. And perhaps not even all of them.
Is "inland sea" or "oasis" random? If not -> out.

You could create a special section for the other maps.

Only the ones in the "Play Now!" menu.

I'd go along with the stock ones. But I think Custom Continents has a lot of fun potential and goes a bit towards the utopia of getting exactly what sort of map you want for any given hof attempt. I mean you could iteratively play continents to get a particular setup, but why not help that along a bit.

However, with the very similar square maps I think it does reduce the desire to work on any regular map. And all the rest are too simple for this sort of undertaking.

Its possible we can mod this as well. Imagine a custom map setup screen that basically reproduces all that Moon's Civ3 app did for HOF!

I voted for the Civ3 ones plus highlands, however, I can see now that I should have voted for the "Play Now" ones as in DaveMcW post above. Does this poll mean separate fast finish tables, for each map size, difficulty and victory type?
