I've finally got my video card, opened up the package. This is my first time inserting a new graphics card and I look at the gray AGP slot. I fit in my 4x/8x (product description) AGP card into the slot. It doesn't fit! The motherboard manufacturer stated the AGP slot is 4x and 2x, but it doesn't seem to be deep enough. SO i'm stuck here with a card that I cannot screw in because it cannot fit all the way in.

I tried to shove it in, it fits but the hole to put the screw in has a little space in between. I'm fearing it may have been too hard?

It's just catching on something. The metal tab at the bottom of the plate that you attach to the case is probably not lining up right.

All AGP slots are not created equal since the standards changed over time. Read this page for details on different AGP slots.
