Is it possible to set the number of games to keep in the Autosave directory? Hard drive space is no problem at all, just sometimes I want to go further back in history to start playing again.

Yes, it's inside your civilizationIV.ini file in your My Games folder. Line will say:

; The maximum number of autosaves kept in the directory before being deleted.
MaxAutoSaves = ???

Change that line. You can also change how often it autosaves on the next line. Don't put 0 though, because it will blank it out.

The ini file has a line that says maximum number of autosaves. Default is five, increase to whatever you want.
