y are thear no new unit modles, but insted just reskins of other units!! its so stupid to see a ww2 german infantry man not in the right uniform. or a ww2 german fighter in the shape of a spitfire!!

I'm assuming you know that without the SDK or a very expensive program there won't be any new models. Be happy that people are trying to freshen things up a bit.

NIFLA is says this: NIF requires expensive software such as 3DS MAX, well I have it, and I did alot with it, but a 3DS plugin for NIF? Nowhere!

well that just sucks.... thes new units suck, ww1 german infantry that look like nepolonic troops... british tanks looking like m4 shermans... *rolls eyes*
whats the point of even makeing the units then... it sucks! DAMN THEM DAMN THEM ALL!!

NIFLA is working on unlocking and making a converter/plugin that works for NIF v20.0.0.0 (the version used by Civ4)... be patient and give them time lol.

The British had Shermans, jeez nearly every nation in the world had or still have a Sherman during or after WWII.

because the game isn't about graphics but about gameplay. The graphics are only there to make it easier to manage your empire, they are not the actual attraction to the game itself.

I have to disagree, the 1st thing people think about when they hear "mod" or "scenario" is "new units". To the OP, I would advise patience on the new models, I'm confident that Firaxis will include some method of making new ones with the SDK. If they don't, the uproar from the modding community will be cacophonous.

Some folks are working on a NIF importer/exporter for Blender. They say that it should work with Civ4 sometime. Look in the Utility programs for more info.

I doubt it will come to that, its not like we are dealing with SOE here; may they burn in the lowest circle of hell for 1000 eternities for botching SWG.

have anyone tried an older version of .nif files yet?
maybe they work, and then there is no problem. so far i only heard about the ver 20.0, but nothing about non working (or working) older versions.
just a thought :)

Civ4 i believe uses some v10.0 nif files (i think for the buildings) but even then there is no true plugin for htose either... Morrwind uses 4.0 and there are plugins but those nifs are not compatable.

Wow, I really hope that isn't true. If it is then "people" really don't have a clue what civ or mods are about. That is, of course, if you mean "new graphics" when you say "new units."

i hear your probem, but understand that we cant do anyhting, and attacking those of us who spend hours reskining to add some sort of variaty is just insulting.

look, screenshots of a new building, fuel refinery, not a re-skin, from yours truly. (allthough the skin is dark, I belive it is an ambient color problem... but that is another issue.
