Hmm... The whole story. That would be that we built an embassy and you guys had a dummy spit about it and declered war to shut it down, does that pretty much cover it? Did i miss something? If not then KISS know the full story, but by all means your welcome to add to anything i missed, i wouldn't wont KISS to get an unbalanced view.

@ azzaman, i know where you are going with the technically, so i save you the trouble and tell you why there is not technically, declering war is an hostile act in itself, without combat involved. Like i said i know where you are going but can can't tell me hostile and non-aggressive are not exclusive of each other.

It will be interesting to see if rule 3.8 becomes a factor.

Staying at war to upkeep War Weariness but not actual fighting

Description: Being kept at war by a team with the intent of inflicting War Weariness, and the penalties that are associated with it.

Definition: This can result in a team’s War Weariness being applied and worsened when the team no longer wishes or is able to wage war against the other.

Purpose: To prevent unfairly using the games mechanics to increase, exaggerate, or prolong the effects of War Weariness when waging war is not a reasonable option as determined by the game staff.

Verdict: A team must accept a peace offer, within a reasonable amount of time (determined by the game staff), if war has not been waged or reasonably waged in a reasonable amount of time (all determined by the game staff)

Punishment Level: Once - Orange (1-5 turns and/or Forfeiture or funds), Red (5 – Expulsion)
Seems pretty lame to me.

So it's up to RM & GA to determine if MIA is just using game mechanics to unfairly manipulate the embassy shutting down...

Why would you declare if you get nothing out of it. You are obviously getting the benefit of not allowing any embassies to work properly without fighting a war that you declared.

Note that Rule 3.8 deals only with war and war weariness. Until that becomes a factor, nothing's being broken here.

If further discussion is desired on this, we should probably open a new thread, and leave the MIA International Tribune thread alone.

I'm not really supposed to address these issues, as I'm not Foreign Minister or UN rep (unless Fe clears it first). Unless that changes, I can't comment further. But I can say that MIA is privately discussing these matters as well.

Dear Sirs,

I would like to place the following full page ad in the forthcoming issue of the Int'l Trib:

The Republic of Iron formally re-declares war on the evil Gallic Empire and their puppet state (variously known as Iroq, the Repbulic of Doughnutia and other silly names). This state of hostilities is a direct result of the establishment of an Iroqi embassy in Athens. The Ironic people are saddened that their one time purple clad friends have fallen so far under the influence of the dark green side that they would stoop so low. The peaceful Ironic people cannot stand idly by while their true-green friends, the Greeks, are made the target of such an aggressive, barbaric and dishonourable act.

As leader of the Ironic people I urge the Iroqi to rethink the course they have marked out for themselves. Expel the Galls from your lands! Go into the Sacred Jungle for forty days and forty nights and pray to Meleet for guidance and forgiveness! Don't forget to take along a few goats. It would probably be a good idea to sacrifice one, too. Then when you emerge from the Sacred Jungle you will be cleansed of your sins. You will then see the wisdom of joining the Republics of Iron and Greece in a Holy War against the Gallic menace. Then you will beat your embassy stones into spear heads and rid the world of idiocy. You will no longer be tormented by the dark green side!

I would also like to categorically deny the rumors being spread about by Gallic operatives that the Doughnutian embassy in Athens was in reality a front for gun-running and other illegal activies of dinsog. While it is true that Greek authorities did find a few scimitars and some very old doughbolts in the embassy basement they found no reason to suspect dinsog had anything to do with the establishment of the embassy. In fact, when dinsog was later discovered sitting behind the ambassabor's desk in the ambassador's plush office, he was asked point blank if he had indeed established the embassy. His reply was 'no' and the Greek authorities, knowing dinsog to be a man of honor, promptly ended the interview and (justifiably) declared war on Iroq.

I didn't realize mining a hill or two in despotism would lead to the downfall of the Republic of Iron. Silly me, I thought that had more to do with the dastardly sneak attack by a horde of Gallic swordmen. I also thought the Iroqi kicking us when we were down had something to do with it, too. The really funny thing is, no one on our team ever complained about those mines till someone else brought it up. I'm glad you're finally speaking up about this now. It helps alot.

Those of us in exile in Greece have never recognized your illegal monarchy. It is nothing but a puppet in the hands of the Idiot Galls, as is the Doughnutian Republic. I am still the President of the Republic of Iron. We still have a full working Ironic government in place in exile. Ever since my hissy fit I've been working to regain our country and hope one day soon to be sitting in my old office in Dancing Banana. When I'm there there will be no hard feelings against those who were temporarily mesmerized by Gall propaganda. You will be welcomed back with open arms. I think you will have a chance soon to join another team. I do hope you will choose wisely when the time comes and not join a third loser.

I can only argue against things which were done during my time in the team, i believe one of them was the continuing fight against the galls when we could have gone for peace early on, however i suppose you are right in the grand scheme of things maybe i should of spoken up but then perhaps you in your infinate wisdom could of maybe put in a word about the vital wonder that is the Mausoleum of Mausolles-i must say that was a master stroke to build that, whatever will you think of next? building settlers while we were getting our arse handed to us.....oh wait didnt you.....

Im glad ever since your fit you've been working to get back the lands of iron, however i think it could of been more usefull if you had of done it immediatly after your fit and not say after the country has been destroyed-that just smells to me a bit like illogical.

Its nice to know that i'd be welcomed into MIA and I as a member of KISS would like to extend such a welcome to you when you get thrown off your team but i just cant, my apologies.

Well, it was either build the Mausoleum, waste the shields or continue trying to build an even more expensive wonder. You've been teasing me for not reading up on latter day TNT events or early MIA dealings but you seem to have missed alot of early TNT history. I took over the turn playing after Provolution left and I inherited the team's idea of building a wonder as well as the team's desire to pursue the Iroqi war (long after I could see it was a fruitless effort). After that war it was quite clear we were in a losing position. I continued as the turn player because no one else would do it. I was not the TNT master strategist. The team gave a general direction and I tried to follow that. So we lost. It's just a game. But if it makes you guys feel better I'll accept the responsibility. TNT lost because I'm a crappy player. Happy now? If you are or aren't I am still

I actually liked the road idea. Our wartime goals were to secure as many luxes as we could and the jungle road seemed necessary to get that southern incense and of course to protect our jungle cities. We did have dreams of using it as an invasion road but that never seemed to work out. Luck certainly was not on our side south of the Sacred Jungle Then again I was never playing the game to burn cities or wipe out other teams, just trying to gain an advantage for the end game. In hindsight I guess I'd say it doesn't pay to worry about the endgame if you can't get past the opening. Live and learn.

Sure we could have shifted to a different pre-build or just continued on to the Statue of Zeus (the original plan). We decided it would be best to stop working on prebuild / wonder so we could switch over to military production in that city. We decided to build a cheap wonder instead of wasting the shields we already had invested.

Correction; Whilst fe was drunk, he accidently killed a horse while yelling 'dance!' and shooting at its feet.

Fortunately the rest of the horses were rather smart, and learnt how to dance before fe reloaded his gun. :mischief:

Austrian are you sure, anyway we can argue about that in my Springfield beach house over a Doughnutian province wine or seven, since we all live in the same country now:)

Well, the homeland has no alcholic beverages left due to some excessive cellabrations by 'certain' departments of the MIA government (cough Foriegn cough :p).

Wait, was I not meant to tell them that?

General W stint as President didn't last long did it. What happened GW?
Even the great Chamnix needs a break from time to time... mine was more of a caretaker government while Chamnix recovered from a severe case of the "2hourstoplayaturns"!
I was all to happy to leave the presidential palace after serving 20 turns in the very big chair he left empty.

:salute:

P.S. And it may be a few days yet - but don't abandon the MTDG forum right away - I'm closing in on finishing a very special surprise that I hope you'll all enjoy! So please check back here later in the week. :D

This is the real reason why KISS did so poorly, they were actually musicians and no good at the game.

You are correct CH. I lead a double life, you see.

One is my rock n roll panda which comes out late at night and wears makeup, wigs and some such. Don't tell Holly though...

This is the everyday Whomper Holly knows heading to work....
