"I am the lord thy god, thou shalt not have any gods before me"
So what about having lesser gods subordinate to the main god?
I know its weak humour but oh well i'm just playing around with interpreting the bible, because given enough creativity you can get the bible to justify anything you like

Actually, many places in the Bible mention the Christian God as being above other gods.

Apparently, you can't go to the bathroom on the Sabbath. I don't have the cite, but I think that the maximun distance that can be walked on the Sabbath, according to Leviticus, is less than the distance that the latrine has to be located away from camp.
And yeah, apparently the ancient Jews only did have Yahweh before other gods, not just Him exclusively.

That's jus't how monotheism evolved from polytheism. People had local town gods. Then they would consider there town god above other town gods. They would then consider there god above all others. Then they would say that the other gods weren't real. Thus monotheism was born.

I believe that it is the other way around.

this will probably get more discussion if moved to OT or World History.
I agree with that loophole being a viable argument. Of course, before means previously and in front of so it can be taken at both definitions.
