Because that's just the way things are done. :)

It's also so that it doesn't become a popularity contest/influenced by peers.

All votes affecting an individual by name are private polls. It is somewhere in the CoL but I haven't bothered to look it up.

Why is it private?!!
All elections are private, as are any polls relating to individual citizens.

Why is it private?!!
So that voting blocks cannot function

I voted Dave, after this past term we need someone at the helm who has been in the posistion before.

I'm backing DaveShack. He seems very capable and steady, something we could use in a President right now.

I think the strap line he used in term 1 was something like, "Vote Future for a better Future."

I used "Vote Future for a better future" in the last election, I just kinda got snuck up on for this one.

I would also like to say that even thoughI am not as qualified as Dave Shack I will still strive to serve the people as best I can.

A big :thanx: to my supporters, and to I am the Future for being willing to be a candidate. It's a lot better to have an actual vote than it is to be unopposed like so many past elections on the Civ3 side.
