Strider Jan 31, 2006, 04:05 PM For those who are interested, I am taking applications for the Deputy poistion. By saying "applications" I basically mean to just PM me, and I'll likely accept you. It's the easiest job interview you can have (don't expect to get paid though... and I doubt you can write this down as community service).
I would much prefer to take some inexperienced and new to the game however.
As an early warning, you will be doing something. So don't expect to get fat on science funds ;).
Strider Jan 31, 2006, 08:56 PM I'm proud to announce the deputy for the Science Department! After being pretty impressed with his overview of our current tech choices, I was deciding on asking him to become the Science Deputy.
Anyway, the science deputy for Term 2 is Sigma!
Now it's time for me to point out that the first letters of our name conviently makes SS, which can stand for spaceship ;).
DaveShack Jan 31, 2006, 09:35 PM Fantastic choice, I was impressed as well. Congrats to both of you, and looking forward to lots of discoveries this term. :)
Sigma Feb 01, 2006, 09:52 AM Thank you very much for your appointment Strider! I am flattered by your comments. :)
I will do my best to serve you and the Citizens of our Great Nation.
Civanator Feb 01, 2006, 09:58 AM Congratulations on the win ol buddy.
Unlike civ3 I find the early tech tree in Civ4 quite interesting.
Actually I find it all a lot more interesting than Civ3, so hopefully science is more fun in this game ;).
IamSid Feb 02, 2006, 01:55 PM SS can also stand for something else...
Anyway congratulations on your political victory.
Strider Feb 03, 2006, 02:54 PM Opened a new science discussion over future science goals, here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=157522).
Strider Feb 03, 2006, 08:01 PM Sigma, from now on.. when I post one of the Science Goals threads (like I did earlier today), I'll PM you acouple days before it's posted. I would like for you to make up a "Proposed" queue/science goals. I'll make up my own seperately, and then I'll post both of our suggestions inside of the thread when it's created.
That way we have multiple ideas proposed to get debate and ideas out there.
Sigma Feb 03, 2006, 08:02 PM Sure thing. I've actually been thinking about it quite a bit but haven't had a large enough chunk of time to make a detailed post with my explanation yet. I'll try to do that tomorrow morning.

Better yet, just do one for each turnchat. I will most likely submit a new proposal tommorow, once the turnchat is completed. We will have additional information from the turnchat, and things will likely change. So don't worry about doing one right now.
Once the turnchat after the Feb. 4 one comes around, I'll end up creating a new thread... and just post your proposal, for that turnchat, in the next thread.
Basically, I want some opposition. I'm not perfect, I can't think of everything. However, if no one takes the time to find my mistakes, they may never be found. Opposition creates strength ;).
Strider Feb 11, 2006, 09:16 AM A poll has been posted here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=158711) over our latest research path.
Strider Feb 11, 2006, 05:51 PM I updated the the first post with data from the latest save, alittle late on that aspect... it's been a turbulent week.
I may have to resign due to health concerns, but hopefully everything turns out fine. I'll know for certain within the next week or so. Ontop of health concerns, my girlfriend thinks I'm slipping back into depression.
Long week...

Dude, you don;t have to resign, just take a leave of absence. However much i dislike your ideals, i respect you, but your health needs to come first. If you need a break just post, and Sigma will take over until you return. Depression is serious, so take the time to gather and prioritize. Get Well(er)
Sigma Feb 11, 2006, 10:43 PM You and me both Strider... I've been having a rough couple of weeks. I hope to post my opinion on here soon...
Strider Feb 13, 2006, 02:59 PM Good news, I'm not gonna die! Well... yet anyway. That reminds me, I almost died this morning. Okay, well I didn't almost die.... I wasn't really in any danger at all. Some dumbass ran into the back of my car (he wasn't going more than 5-10 miles per hour). Bent in my bumper abit, but other than that the car came out fine.
I swear, next time I get into a car accident, I want to hit something hard. I don't want to walk away from one of these again.
DaveShack Feb 13, 2006, 06:09 PM Glad to hear you're all right. :)
I got rear-ended back in October, and got lucky to only have a sore back for a couple of days. Didn't quite total the van, but it came within about $500 and I've had to take it back to the shop 3 times already, so they have spent more than that on re-fixing things. They should have listened to me and just written it off...
