I have run Civ4 with 1.09. I uninstalled Civ4, removed the Program Files and My Games folders and reinstalled Civ 4 plus 1.52 via the in game update. Now, on start up the main menu font is unreadable. Is there a workaround?

I re-installed Civ4 plus 1.52 on a HP AMD 4200+ and now can see the menu text. I hope that this machine has a spec which supports all the game features. This issue is closed for me.
